Troytown Farm Shepherds hut

A beautiful retreat has been done out of love but it has been made so homely by the little touches, flowers, colours co-ordinated plenty of light and also dark with the curtains . Spacious comfy bed.

Couldn't stay another night as they were booked

We loved the isolation and that the only neighbours were sheep. Everything in the hut has been put together thoughtfully so you have exactly what you need to hand. The firewood was really well seasoned, which helped us get the firepit/bbq going after the rain earlier in the day. The shower pressure was fantastic and you’re in a perfect location to explore Dorset a little more.

My only suggestion would be a few more tea bags in the welcome pack. If that’s the worst thing I experienced, I think it was all pretty sweet, don’t you?

A beautifully crafted shepherd hut created with local materials. I felt very safe and enjoyed my experience staying in a shepherds hut.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to for this one, amazing attention to detail and immaculate throughout, it really made our weekend, thank you so much to the hosts. I was initially hesitant at the idea of a Shepherds hut but this was arguably better than a majority of hotels that I’ve stayed in and would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Having private toilet facilities, the ability to prepare food, a full size bed, and all the consumables/small touches that you will really struggle to find at any other hut really set this one apart.

It’s a shame about the road noise given the otherwise tranquil setting but you’ll probably only notice it if you live in a rural area. The overall site is also very small/quiet which isn’t the case for other huts in the area which makes up for it
