Schitterend uitzicht. In de drukte, maar toch weg van de drukte. Mooi en zeer schoon appartement. Hartelijke eigenaren/bewoners. Fantastisch ontbijt. Fijn zwembad (gedeeld met evt andere gasten van het andere appartement.

De laatste 100 meter voor het appartement is een kiezelpad bergopwaarts. In de avond daarbij ook nog erg donker.

We spent eleven days at Anna and Thomas's place in Balchik and cannot recommend it highly enough. The apartment is gorgeous, genuinely high end and beautifully finished, but what sets it apart is how much thought has gone into it. Coffee and creamers, matches, sewing kits, cotton buds, dishwasher tablets, every small thing you could possibly need is already waiting for you. We arrived and simply relaxed, which is exactly what you want from a holiday. Anna and Thomas themselves are so kind. We did not hire a car, and they offered without being asked and cheerfully drove us to the supermarket. They gifted us tomatoes and cucumbers from their own garden. Thomas's bakery on site is a joy too: fresh bread every morning, and a superb big breakfast with all sorts of treats if you would rather not lift a finger. Two honest notes for future guests, both of which worked well for us. The pool is a proper swimming pool rather than a splash pool, which our older children absolutely loved, so families with little ones will simply want to keep them close. And it is about a half hour walk down to the beach. We enjoy a walk, found several different routes, and there is a lovely spot roughly halfway with restaurants and places to stop, while the restaurants down at the beach are gorgeous, as is the beach club. The real bonus is that you are up in a private escape with beautiful panoramic views. Balchik is a delight, with an unpolished, lived-in charm. The area's rich Thracian heritage feels very much alive, and the layers of history are extraordinary: a Thracian settlement, then Greek, later part of the Ottoman Empire, Romanian from 1913 to 1940, and Bulgarian since, with traces of the communist era still visible too. The beaches are natural rather than over-developed, and British-born Queen Marie of Romania's summer palace sits above the seafront.

Nothing significant. If we visited again, we would probably hire a car, simply because there is so much to explore in the surrounding area. Taxis were slightly more expensive than we had expected, but this did not detract from an excellent holiday.

Tout était très propre, l'appartement est parfaitement équipé, la terrasse est agréable, la vue sur la mer est magnifique et la piscine est assez grande et bien entretenue. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et vous pouvez meme commander votre pain frais qui est fait sur place le matin. Une très belle découverte, nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Ce n'est pas forcément une mauvaise chose mais il faut savoir que les matelas sont extra fermes. Même si c'est bon pour le dos ça peut ne pas convenir à certaines personnes.
