Proximity to water, the pool,views,

No AC but fans worked well

The location is excellent. It has a very close beach access and a beautiful view of the ocean and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. There has been erosion of the land behind the seawall (sinkhole). The HOA is addressing the problem. At times there can be large waves that crash over the seawall and that is likely the cause of the problem. The HOA does have the area corded off. At sunset each evening, there is someone that blows a conch shell.

The interior is very nicely decorated and, in some ways, almost too nice. The couch and rotating chair were covered to protect them. I'm sure the owner removes the covers when they are there, but perhaps more visitor friendly seating would be better. A recliner or perhaps a chaise chair would be nice for us old people. We were unfortunate enough to be there during back-to-back Kona storms, so we spent a LOT of time inside the unit staring out at the rain.

The unit was well appointed with many 'extras' like beach chairs, cooler and umbrella for our use. We loved having a ground floor unit that we could just open the door and walk out to the beach. However, it was unclear to us how limited the beach was and how rocky the shoreline. Neighbors were all so friendly and invited us to the nightly happy hour to celebrate the setting sun. It was however, a little weird how everyone put up their chairs right out front of our unit in the morning - that took a little getting used to having people so close.

The unit was well supplied and beautifully decorated. We did find we had to move some of the decorative pieces to give us space for personal belongings, especially in the bathroom. We loved that there was a kettle, but as tea drinkers, a teapot would be a welcome addition. It would also be helpful to know in advance that the BBQ was charcoal and not propane and having proper BBQ utensils would be welcome.
