The Old Forge Cottage

Lorna and Eric are very informative of the local area and warm welcoming. Lorna had made us fabulous home made cake which was greatly appreciated. We had a fantastic week stay at the cottage. The cottage was a great size for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Large garden which my daughter loved especially seeing the chickens and collecting eggs. The village of kilkhampton a 2min drive away we had a great meal in the new inn pub the owners are very pleasant. We was sad to leave and can’t wait to rebook and go back again. :0)

Nothing we loved everything. As stated the cottage is by a main road but that didn’t bother us.

The cottage is very cosy it is located along side a road there is road noise but not to bad once you get used to it the cottage was very clean spotless infact all the kitchen cutlery was brand new including the fridge,Lorna gave us fresh eggs milk and a yummy cake a lovely gesture,the enclosed garden is lovely it has a table with trolley plus padded seat covers we loved sitting out there with a cuppa after a day exploring Bude,we used to pop up the road to the new inn pub which does top quality food it also has a spar shop and co op,we have a fantastic short break at the old forge cottage and will return next year it really was value for money thanks Lorna and Eric and the friendly chickens.

Lovely old cottage with character, comfort, and good facilities. The garden was enclosed and fairly private with a choice of seating. It would have been ideal if we'd taken our dog with us. It was interesting and fun to cook a couple of meals on the Aga, but there was also a microwave and a decent air fryer to cook with. The hosts and their lovely dog, Jinks (Jinx?) were pleasant, friendly, and helpful but not intrusive. There are many places to visit within an hours drive, but also it's an easy drive into Bude, or a walk into Kilkhampton for a meal at one of the two pubs, or to pick up a couple of items at the small Co-Op. We had an excellent holiday!
