iCOLLIROSSI Agriturismo

Majoituspaikka oli uusi ja siisti. Kaikki oli kaunista ja huoneestamme oli erinomaiset näkymät viiniviljelyille.

L'agriturismo é ubicato in un contesto mozzafiato, è immerso tra le vigne di barolo, a 2 min in macchina dsl centro di Monforte d'alba. Locale pulitissimo e molto curato nei dettagli, personale assai discreto e cortese, sempre disponibile.

Nulla, ma se dovessi trovare una nota positiva, migliorerei la scelta della colazione includendo yogurt bianco intero (naturale) e uova.

We just completed a nearly 3 week trip in Italy. This hotel was truly exceptional: thoughtfully designed with unobstructed views of the spectacular Piedmont countryside, with the western Alps as a distant backdrop. Rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious. There was a nearby common/sitting area which included luxurious little touches such as a refrigerator with chilled prosecco, sparkling & still water, and beer, as well as a second refrigerator for guest use. There also was a coffee maker with very high quality coffee, including decaff! Our room and its balcony faced west with the aforementioned spectacular view of the Piedmont countryside & western Alps. The hotel terrace with its lovely landscaping was just below us. I felt like we were in a little piece of Heaven! Our hostess, Bianca, was professional and artistic; her artwork, and calligraphy, were beautiful! (there were champagne and water glasses in our room for the chilled drinks, with lovely welcoming notes) Breakfast was super high quality, featuring local products, from cheeses to meats to fruits to freshly baked breads (including whole grain!) to sweets. I just wish I could have eaten more! Everything was impeccable, very generous, and classy.

Nothing. For me, iCOLLIROSSI came close to perfection! BTW we have gone on walking trips (plus general exploration) in Italy almost every year since 2015 (except during COVID), plus a few trips prior (in 1980s and 1990s) as well. The only minor downside, specific to our situation, and not a criticism at all, was that iCOLLIROSSI is on the outskirts of the town of Monforte, and it is a rather steep uphill walk to the town, partly on a dirt road. We (our family of 5 adults) were on a walking trip (i.e. no car), and iCOLLIROSSI serves breakfast only, so it was a bit of a climb to get to Monforte for dinner, with no sidewalks for some short stretches. Our return was downhill, but it was dark so we had to be careful as we walked back as we were on a narrow road with occasional traffic. Happily we had a full moon so we enjoyed viewing the moon as we returned to our wonderful little piece of heaven after dinner. La dolce vita!!!
