Eel Pie Retreat

Location was superb. Two weeks in London with Eel Pie Retreat as our nightly base. Great pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and transport options. Peaceful retreat with idyllic views of the river and all the life it had to offer 🙏

The location is perfect. A 2 minute walk to local supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The pubs are also close. It was peaceful and the views from the living room were of the Thames which was always full of interest. Trains and buses close so you could travel right across London if you wished. A must visit is the Natural History Museum in South Kensington.

We liked a lot but a few extras would have been helpful. No microwave so you couldn’t heat a drink or cook a quick dinner. The toilet roll holder was broken so the paper kept falling off. The doona was so thick for early summer that we would have loved a blanket but none in apartment. Small things but certainly would improve a visit.

Location was great. Everything was clean and tidy with all we required for our 3 night stay. Access into the property is very easy using the ‘bold’ app. If you are travelling by car, parking is very easy. Neil sorted us a permit for a small fee. It allowed us to park just across the water between the foot bridge and the pub. Max 3 minute walk to the property. The surroundings are really beautiful and central Twickenham is only a short walk away for everything you need. Some great pubs, coffee bars and restaurants close by. The property itself is really lovely and open plan. Spacious enough for the 4 of us, myself, my wife and twin boys who are 10. The main bedroom and sofa bed were very comfortable, providing a much needed deep and restful sleep. Excellent bathroom with hot and powerful shower. Kitchen facilities with everything needed to cook for yourselves, which we made the most of. To anyone looking for somewhere a little bit different to say, a break from the norm, but still having everything you need, I would highly recommend this property.

The location and the apartment itself are really great. Lovely view and nice quiet island cottage.

Getting the App for the doors downloaded and correctly working was a bit challenging after a very long overseas arrival, but we got the hang of it.
