Vortex Studio - Near Central Park

Big, generally nice-looking, and mostly updated apartment close to the center of Skopje. As a runner who does sports almost every day, I actually liked the location a lot because it is very close to Skopje City Park, which is a great place for sports, walking, or even just some quiet time to relax. Walking to the heart of Skopje is easy – only about 15 minutes. Also, there are some restaurants and grocery stores around the apartment building. I liked the apartment’s host – Dragana was very sweet and helpful. She was always available on WhatsApp and answered all my questions quickly. The check-in instructions were easy and clear – I had no problem getting into the apartment. The apartment is located on a high floor, has a small balcony, and there is some pretty view from there. The apartment gets a good amount of natural daylight, and it is also quiet if you prefer to keep the windows or balcony door open. The apartment has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. I appreciated having a little kitchen where it is possible to cook, with a big refrigerator as well. Very good-quality bathroom amenities with nice scents were provided. Having a washing machine was a big plus. The Wi-Fi worked fast. I paid EUR 29 per night – and this deal was super reasonable for this place!

The biggest thing I did not like was the small shower space (which was separated from the rest of the bathroom by just one glass panel), and actually the lack of a proper shower stall. As a result, if I wanted to take a longer shower, water would leak all over the bathroom floor and everything would get wet because the water did not drain fast enough. But if I took a very quick shower (literally 1-2 minutes), then everything was okay – the water had enough time to drain away. Also, I have to say that the whole bathroom was the weakest part of the apartment because it was very tiny (all the amenities were literally right next to each other), and it seemed outdated and not very fresh-looking. On top of that, the sink was very low and small, which bothered me as a tall person (185 cm). Also, I wish the bed were bigger and more comfortable – the mattress was too hard for me. In addition, one little minus – some sections of the closet, especially the upper ones, were dusty. Definitely, the entire closet should be checked for cleanliness more often and cleaned more carefully.

This apartment is an absolute gem if you want comfort, convenience, and to keep your money in your wallet instead of throwing it at overpriced tourist-center traps. Skipping the "heart of Old Town" tax saved us double to triple the price while keeping us close to the action. * Everyday Convenience: Surrounded by local mini-markets that conveniently accept credit cards, plus a bus station nearby for easy transit around the city. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Excellent value for money.

The location is great and super convenient, with plenty of shops, coffee places and restaurants nearby. The flat was just like in the pictures, which was great. The host was also really easy to communicate with and always quick to respond. Overall, a nice place to stay and I’d definitely be happy to come back.
