Pet Friendly in Port Elliot

Location is good for access to the town and beach. Good fenced, safe yard for my dogs. Good facilities in the house.

Very comfortable home and welcoming. A couple of cleaning requirements - overhead fan in lounge room; difficult to open back sliding door; some odour from washing machine drain.

It was reasonably priced

On arrival, we were greeted by a house overstuffed with dated mismatched furniture, giving us a feeling of being in an aging nursing home and an overwhelming aroma from the septic tank. I question why we needed 3 chairs in the bedroom lined up against the wall, reminiscent of a waiting room. We were asked to BYO linen, but this should have also included soap, all toiletries, hair dryer, tissues, dishwashing liquid, and air freshener. The only things supplied in the bathroom were a couple of bath mats and some cloths hanging on a rail over the shower. There was also signs of mould in the bathroom. There were several laminated signs in the accommodation telling us what to do, and not to do, and letting us know what type of cleaning products to use. Sadly, none of these were provided. Of concern was the suggestion that we supply toilet paper for the next guests in case the local shop was closed when they arrived. I would have assumed that someone cleaning between bookings would have replaced this? Previous guests had spoken of the convenient location but failed to mention that it was on the main Victor Harbor to Goolwa road. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend in Port Elliott, but not so much the accommodation.
