We enjoyed our stay in Leiden but really wished we’d stayed somewhere else

The location was good but the accommodation was very disappointing.

A welcome pack of food, with tea and coffee that would last the duration of our stay (rather than 3 coffee capsules) would be inexpensive to provide and would make a significant difference, as it was after a day of travelling we had to leave the accommodation almost as soon as we arrived to hunt for a supermarket at 7:30pm so we could have a drink! There was no comfortable chair to sit on and nowhere to put suitcases, clothes or store food. It was very difficult to prepare food and when we did we had to repair the saucepan first to make it useable as the handle was about to fall off. The apartment was cold making it difficult to dry towels. The bed was too big for the room making it difficult to walk around it and was very uncomfortable. The duvets were inadequate for the time of year (with temperatures around 5C) especially as they were small single duvets instead of a double!

Leiden really nice and interesting. The accommodation was perfect from almost every point of view

Hosts were extremely nice and always on hand. Location was excellent. Good range of kitchen equipment supplied. There was a nice courtyard to sit in.

Bed was so big that there was no room for even a small suitcase. I didn't realise that the key was in a lockbox, since I couldn't check my mails when travelling. Fortunately I arrived just as the owners were entering the house.

Poor quality accommodation & unhelpful host

The only thing I liked about this apartment was its central location overlooking the canal & opposite the shops, cafes, restaurants & market.

While I was out on the first evening of my stay, the host came into my apartment without my permission to turn off the lights & close the windows & doors. Any guest should note that the hosts live upstairs in the same building. There was a lot of noise from above, sometimes in the early hours of the morning. It stopped after I complained. The Terrace View apartment is VERY small. The bedroom is tiny & not big enough for two people. There is nowhere to store your luggage. There are a lot of the owner’s personal possessions in both the Terrace View apartment & the Canal View apartment which creates a sense of clutter when space is already extremely limited. The bed in the Terrace View apartment was uncomfortable & the bed linen & duvet were of poor quality. I was cold most nights. The Terrace itself was a disappointment; just a few pots containing some dead plants. Overall, cleanliness levels were acceptable (except for the big carpet mat in the kitchen of the Terrace View apartment, which was one of the most horrible things I have ever seen in a holiday apartment and/or in a kitchen!. It was truly revolting & unhygienic). Overall, this property was a little bit shabby & not good value for money. I could’ve got a decent hotel room the same price & wish I had done so. Both apartments would benefit from some updating & modernising.

Excellent location. Good to have an outdoor space (even if rain made sitting there problematic). Friendly host living upstairs.

Storage was a bit limited - a few shelves and hooks would have been appreciated. An air-fryer but no microwave. Loose handle on sauce pan.

Great location, not worth the price

Location and inside vintage furniture

Too small with min, too cramped for 2 people to move around confortably. It had the basic facilities but some things were missing such as a TV. The bathroom setup was also inconvinient. There was no seperation between the toilet and the shower, so everytime someone showered the water spill over to the toilet and sink area. No blackout curtains, it was too bright as soon as the sun rose, making it difficult to sleep. Too pricy for this experience.

Excellent location, good price-performance ratio.

Excellent location. The location is directly in the city center, next to the canal and many restaurants and bars. It has air fryer and coffee machine and an induction cooking plate.

The canal facing room is extremely noisy. The windows are not insulated at all, one sheet of glass, old wooden frame with gaps. We were prepared and have ear plugs with us. At summer it can be extremely warm. No microwave and no TV as opposite as listed. No tea mugs.

De locatie, hoewel het met een koffer wel een eind lopen is vanaf het station.

Het was te pietepeuterig om een verblijftvoordeel van een appartement te genieten. Bovendien was de verwarming daartoe inadequaat. Een hotelkamer biedt meer comfort en heeft niet te lijden onder overspannen AirBNB prijzen in Nederland.

Tolle Lage, aber hellhörig

Super Lage und Aussicht, genug Platz im Zimmer "Canal View"

Im Zimmer war kühl, ich hatte die erste Nacht kalt trotz Dyson heater. Es ist sehr hellörig für Geräusche von drinnen( jemand hat Nachts oft gehustet) und von draussen : Leute auf den Nachhauseweg laufen vor der Wohnung durch, man hört sie gut reden und lachen, v.a. am Wochenende ( ich würde Oropax empfehlen).

Heerlijk slaapplekje centraal in de stad dat nog wel wat kleine aanpassingen kan gebruiken.

De locatie was geweldig. Vol uitzicht op het stadsleven op een heel levendige plek in het centrum. Heel fijn dat er een (mini) keukentje was, want door complex dieet is uit eten geen veilige optie voor me.

De kamer was erg donker: de verlichting was zeer beperkt, dus 's avonds lezen was niet heel goed mogelijk. Daarnaast was er geen bureautje/tafeltje waar je lekker aan kunt zitten. Ook had een magnetron een mooie aanvulling kunnen zijn op de verder bescheiden keuken. De kamer was verder vooral gedecoreerd met oude persoonlijk objecten, minder leuk/interessant voor de gasten.

Klein appartement op een perfecte locatie.

*De locatie van het appartementje midden in het centrum is perfect. *Prima sanitaire voorzieningen en kitchenette. *Er is een dakterasje, met weliswaar enkel uitzicht op buitenmuren.

*Het appartement, gelegen op de 1e verdieping, is erg klein en gehorig. Weinig bewegingsruimte in de kleine slaapkamer. *De trap naar boven is enorm steil en in elk geval niet geschikt (gevaarlijk) voor mensen met een loop-beperking. Dit zou in de advertentie vermeld moeten worden. Ook voor mensen zonder beperking is het oppassen geblazen, zeker als met bagage gesleept moet worden. *Het appartement was schoon, met uitzondering van de dekbedden. *De huurprijs was gezien het hiervoor vermelde wel aan de hoge kant. . *Door het voorgaande heeft het appartement slechts deels aan mijn verwachtingen voldaan.

Sehr schöne pittoreske Lage im Centrum (dafür aber abends recht laut), Sehr gute Ausstattung des Appartements, sogar Kaffeeautomat und pads vorhanden, gemütlich eingerichtet. Klimaanlage vorhanden.

Kein TV. Aufgrund der sehr sehr steilen und schmalen Treppe und geringen Stufenbreite zum 1.Stock sicherlich nicht für jeden Gast geeignet/Gepäcktransport ins Zimmer ist eine Herausforderung....

Mooi sfeervol pand midden in het historisch centrum van Leiden. Prettig ontvangst! Keukentje met alle gewenste voorzieningen, wat zeker bij een langer verblijf prettig is.

Kleine tips: douchegordijn vervangen door een wandje en een iets groter tafeltje om aan te werken.

Het gehele appartement, was eigenlijk gewoon n kamer. Deze stond gevuld als opslag ruimte voor de eigenaar. Schilfers in het bed. Te vies gewoon om te slapen. Klachten werden weggewimpeld en een serieus schrijven richting de eigenaar wordt totaal genegeerd. Zeer slecht…

外の音（朝市のたつ賑やかな通りに面している。古い建物なので二重窓にできない）、階段（はしごみたいな階段だけど、これは古い建物なので仕方ない）、電子レンジがない（代わりにエアフライヤーが使えたけど、やはり物価の高いオランダではスーパーの惣菜を買うことが多いので電子レンジがあると便利）。

Bonitas vistas.

Era cómodo y acogedor. Las vistas al canal del Nuevo Rin resultaban muy agradables. Los caseros fueron muy simpáticos y serviciales en todo momento. La cocinita estaba bien equipada.

Al estar en pleno centro de Leiden y tratarse de un apartamento exterior en la primera planta, tuve que dormir con tapones porque la gente pasaba hablando muy cerca, y se les oía mucho. Por otro lado, tuve que recurrir al pequeño calefactor eléctrico porque la calefacción central no era suficiente y las ventanas (algo habitual en estos edificios típicos holandeses) no ajustaban bien. Eché de menos una mesa en condiciones para poder comer y trabajar, así como un armario en el que colgar la ropa (hay una especie de cómoda, pero no una barra donde usar perchas). La escalera es, como sucede normalmente en ese país, empinadísima.
