The accommodation is located in a quiet town on the Greek mainland near Lefkada. It matches the Booking.com description perfectly and is run by the kind and helpful Sofia, who is always ready to solve any requirements. We appreciated the welcome gift of local wine and fresh water. The apartment is modern, well-designed, and includes a washing machine—especially useful for families with children! The Vonitsa region is truly captivating, offering not only beautiful beaches but also rich historical landmarks. We recommend skipping the overcrowded Lefkada, which was disappointing. Instead, explore the stunning coastline north and south of Vonitsa—peaceful, scenic, and free from tourist crowds. Nearby sites include Nicopolis, the Necromanteion, the Springs of Acheron, and Actium, where the final naval battle of the Second Triumvirate took place. The area is steeped in history and well worth exploring. Vonitsa’s town beach and the nearby islet, accessible by footbridge, are much nicer than I supposed them to be. The beach is well-equipped, even for visitors with disabilities, and the pine-covered islet offers a magical, tranquil walk. Make sure you don´t miss these places once you are in Vonitsa. Overall, Vonitsa is ideal for travelers seeking more than just crowded beach tourism. It’s a welcoming region full of history, nature, and authentic Greek charm. Given the size of the accommodation, I highly recommend it for traveling couples or families with one child. For families with two or more children, the space may feel slightly cramped.
