Ann's Garden flat

Lovely hosts, nice little accommodation. Great for a couple of nights stay. Good location, away from the hustle and bustle but still near local attractions.

Nothing, the only thing I would suggest would be, although there is a fab mirror in the bathroom, maybe a mirror nearer the sink to make shaving easier.

We had a code for a key box but actually the door was open and one of the hosts was working in the garden so we just walked in. The flat was as described regarding the low ceilings. It was perfect for our short stay to attend a party and wedding locally. The available space was well used and there were plenty of places to hang clothes.

There was nothing not to like, though the bed was a bit squeaky and soft, and it was difficult not to end up with water on the floor after using the shower despite the shower curtain. It suited us perfectly but we are average height and width!

My head touched the ceiling when I was in the shower. I’m 5 foot five. Roy is 6 foot one and he couldn’t get in it.

Lovely location. Free parking by the property. Large garden. Everything you need is provided in the flat. Mix up over whether dog friendly last minute . I 100% thought it was. They kindly let us bring our small non moulting dog who slept in a cage in the lounge.

No mention of doors heights in the description, just ceilings. Kitchen door was 5’2 Ceiling about 5’8”. Husband is 5’10’. He had to stop going in the kitchen for his own safety. Cannot work in a kitchen bent over. Had multiple bangs from the top door frames despite the ‘duck’ warnings above doors.Had to bend over in the shower. All not what you expect. It is not an old cottage but a newish modern looking flat. Husband became unwell and we had to leave a day early. All doors must have been less than 5’10’ because he banged his head on them all. Not acceptable for UK average male height. Had to ask for the central heating to be put on twice as we were both cold. No control of this in the flat. I was fine at 5’1’ and it was my birthday treat so my husband put up with it for 2 nights. He then suggested we leave a day early in case he got worse after another day of head bumps. He had to drive back while he safely could. Very stressful journey back for us both. Got checked at the GP 3 days later and no mild concussion thankfully. We accept it was our fault for not saying something on arrival as it was certainly not suitable for us. My birthday treat was ruined for us both. We didn’t want to lose 3 days of fees as it did say no refunds on the cheapest tariffs. A lot of money to lose but regret not doing it now. The photo is my husband stood in front of the kitchen door.
