Agréable appartement proche Libourne

C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons dans cette location qui permet vraiment de se reposer et de se déconnecter. Les propriétaires sont gentils, accueillants et généreux. Ils mettent du coeur dans la gestion de leur bien, et cela se ressent. Mille mercis!

Nous avons tout aimé dans cette très belle location confortable, propre, bien agencée et décorée avec goût. Les propriétaires ont été très accueillants. Ce logement nous a permis de nous déconnecter notamment grâce au home cinéma et au spa. Un grand merci pour ces prestations!

The apartment was very tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable one-week stay, with added benefits of a huge home-cinema screen with surround sound, and a jacuzzi! Air-conditioning in all rooms was a bonus too. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything we needed to prepare simple meals (e.g. omelettes for breakfast) using an electric cooker (although there's no proper stove or oven, so don't expect to be able to cook sophisticated dinners, which we were not planning to do anyway, so it was not a problem for us). Other plusses included the little balcony to sit on in the morning sunshine and the secure parking for our car (behind an electronically controlled gate). Brigitte and her husband were fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome and were not intrusive. They also gave us some good tips about things to visit and restaurants to try out in the area. Merci beaucoup! :-) The location was also very good, being situated on the eastern edge of Fronsac and a very short distance from Libourne (which has many shops and restaurants to choose from - we'd particularly recommend the Bistro Maritime for dinner, but make sure you book in advance). It's also only about 10 minutes by car from the Pomerol area and the wonderful Saint-Émilion is about 14 minutes away, so it was an ideal base for exploring the winery châteaux of the region (Bordeaux itself is a 40-minute drive away, which is easily doable as a day trip, but you'd probably want to be closer to Bordeaux if you want to explore the 'rive gauche' wine areas of Médoc, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, Margaux, etc.)

We had an excellent stay and have no real complaints, but something for other visitors to be aware of is that there are lots of mosquitoes in the garden around the property, so bring a good repellent. Another minor detail is that there's no boulangerie within easy walking distance, so buy your bread the evening before if you want bread for breakfast (or be prepared to drive into town to buy it fresh each morning).
