The Hayloft

- Cosy cottage, perfect size and so rustic. Lovely and quiet break from busy town life. - Has all the homely touches like small side tables, lamps, blankets that make it truly relaxing. Those are often the forgotten bits in holiday homes ❤️ - Both the heating and the fan provided were brilliant! Made us comfortable every day in this changeable weather. - The bathroom is beautiful and the shower was reliably hot. Heated towel rail and additional airer were so handy too. - Welcoming Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge on arrival - lovely treat! - Lovely location - walkable to shop and tea rooms. Great restaurants like Lokkys, Carew Inn nearby. Attractions like Manor Wildlife Park, Craft Fair and Heatherton Attractions so close! - Seamless check in with lockbox, it was even ready early. - The vanity unit and stool in bedroom - Chaise sofa to put your feet up after a day exploring. - Responsive and very kind host, willing and helped to resolve any issues that came up. -Swimming pool booking system was easy to use. Overall had an absolutely fantastic time!

- Minor lack of soundproofing between upstairs Hayloft and Coach House flat underneath. We could hear one guest with a particularly deep booming voice talking (fortunately only overlapped one night) and could still hear the TV even with the quieter guests who replaced the Brian Blessed sound-alike. Sound of their TV was easily covered up by using the Hayloft TV ourselves. A review for the Coach House flat on Booking.com says they could hear everything in the Hayloft including things being plugged in to the wall so we tried to be extra quiet. - There is no cupboard space for food and drink due to excess crockery/glassware. I counted at least 16 drinking glasses excluding wine glasses but the owner has since confirmed this is because the property is used privately by them as well which is fair enough. - State of the on-site mini golf course was not communicated to us in advance. Just about still usable but a lot of the felt/green is no longer attached to the ground and had moved out of place. Other bits were still attached but curled upwards which kept catching the ball or disrupting play. Looks like it's been that way for a while - the owner has since assured me that a revamp is planned. It will be great when this is done, really fun course! - State of the on-site pool ladders not communicated in advance. One was roped off with tape and the other was unsafe to use anyway due to handles being very rickety and steps not securely attached to the frame. Owner has since assured me that these are being repaired shortly. Otherwise lovely, very warm and clean facilities! - Sykes put on the Booking.com listing that this property comes with a free Netflix subscription. When I enquired about it (I have no subscriptions and was eager to use it), I was informed by the owner that this was a mistake as Netflix don't allow subscriptions for holiday lets so the listing will be amended.

The was helpful at every stage. The location was ideal. Really quiet, and a great launch pad for exploring. Torches, TV, fully kitted kitchen and good parking.

An extra loo roll - but no biggie.

The location was peaceful and had so many things to see close by and lovely walks to suit all levels

We are not a fan of electric showers but fully understand the reason why they are very popular in UK

The location was great for getting to places. Smart TV was great to have for the evenings. Great array of kitchen appliances for cooking.

We weren’t aware as booking.com hadn’t made it clear that dogs were not allowed to be left alone in the property. When we first arrived, we’d had a long drive, dropped our luggage in the property, set up our dogs den up and went to get some food from the local Tesco (10 mins away). We hadn’t noticed the sign on the wall and hadn’t read the folders, we were just tired and hungry. In Tesco we received a call from the owner saying someone said we’d left a dog alone in the flat, I said yes and explained she was very well behaved and in her den. I felt like I was spoken to as a naughty child, the owner repeated the same thing about dogs not being allowed in the flat alone several times even though I’d made it clear I understood and didn’t realise and that it was noted. As mentioned, I’ve stayed in many places with our pooches and they’ve always been allowed to stay home alone, sadly we lost our boy recently so this trip was just with the one dog. We’ve stayed in many places and this hasn’t ever been a problem so we were limited as to where we could go and ended up having to get day care for our dog. If we had known, we wouldn’t have booked. We were only able to use the pool on site once due to this. The stairs were quite steep leading to the property, also slippery in the rain. Some of the kitchenware was a bit dirty, we had to wash it before we used it. I did feel as if we were being watched with all of the cctv everywhere. Didn’t feel private as there are lots of other properties in the complex. Bit like a housing estate.
