A cosy place tucked away in the North Devon countryside. Steve & Nikki were very accommodating & the occasional deliveries of eggs and home made marmalade were lovely. Best bits were the lovely greetings by the farm's dogs, cats, and horses. I arrived late evening & it was such a joy to look up and see every star and blemish of the milky way lit up with gorgeous clarity, a rarity throughout most of the UK nowadays.
Thanks again for the lovely base of operations whilst I was working in the area
Not deal breaking negatives at all, nor can the owners really solve these issues but just minor heads up for light sleepers and cheap car owners.
- The building next door to the cottage houses chickens and you can sometimes hear them, or possibly mice, skittering around the ceiling/roof in the night every hour or two. It took me all of 20 minutes to get used to it and slept great for the following 6 weeks.
- The farm is at the end of a steep, slightly uneven track, definitely take your time on your way down to the property for the first time

It was clean and comfortable and liked the rural location. We had a visit from Rosie the golden Labrador each morning which my grandsons liked.
Nothing it was well equipped

Liked the cottage and the lovely people close to lots of great places to visit beaches watermouth castle etc and friendly dogs lots of handy things useful in the kitchen and a dishwasher too great shower
Being woken up every morning from between 3am and 5am by a Cockerell and things running on the roof at night scratching sounds on the roof not good at all. Also the bed was uncomfortable the thick brambles on the approach scratched my car to bits didn't notice until I got back they need regular maintenance also the patio area needs a revamp as a family of four wasn't enough chairs my car also had a nasty dent on the bonnet with a deep scratch I noticed it when I got back

Nice bathroom with large bath
Loved the kettle
Milk provided
The lounge/kitchen smelt awful (a dog smell to me) and lots of flies
Beside cabinets etc were dusty
Bed uncomfortable. Saggy sofa
Didn’t like the lack of windows so couldn’t see out. The skylights were dirty. No blind to main bedroom so very light
Stale coffee in a rusty tin unpleasant
Dirty mat on worktop to make drinks on
Noisy building work in next field
Pile of sand/gravel side of steps
No contact from owners

Everything. The photos don't do it justice! You're surrounded by lovely scenery and beautiful wildlife as well as some great ginger cats and free roaming chickens and some horses. It's a beautiful home.
Additional pluses were the scones left for us and a bath! (I only have a shower at home, so I spent half a day being a mermaid).
Nothing. I guess the only downside was not actually getting to meet the owners, but we didn't need them for anything and they were still contactable and had someone pop by to check we were happy, which was nice. I definitely wouldn't see it as a negative as it was nice having our own space.
