Looking for a weekly summer rental close to all the beauty Leelanau County has to offer? This quaint getaway will be sure to revive your spirit! Designed for a family, it features an open kitchen, a cozy living room, an airy loft bedroom filled with books and a detached, private bunkie with a king sized bed....and even more books. Just minutes to fresh water beaches, wineries, hiking, biking and more.
Come visit our farm cottage right in the heart of Leelanau County, situated on a 135-acre working farm. We're just 1 1/2 miles from the shores of Lake Leelanau and 3 miles from the Big Water at Good Harbor Beach. The village of Lake Leelanau is 6 miles North, Leland and Fishtown are 8 miles away, and Traverse City is an easy, 25-minute drive. Farming is a huge part of our family's life--there are pigs on the property, hayfields in every direction, heritage cows grazing in pastoral fields and farm tours available. The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably, with two separate bedrooms--one slightly detached bedroom with a king-sized bed, one with a queen sized bed and a full sleeper sofa in the living room. You'll find the best local coffee and tea in the cupboard. There is a full spice rack and all of the basic kitchen staples so that if you'd rather eat (or bake) in rather than eat out, you'll feel right at home.
The living room is comfortable, with multiple couches and a wood stove to curl up in front of in the winter. We are lifelong readers and hope you'll see yourself here enjoying a bookish retreat; we built these shelves ourselves for the purpose of holding (part of!) our collection. You'll find hundreds of titles, ranging from contemporary literary fiction to DIY to the classics. There's also a DVD library, wifi and television to suit all interests.
All linens and towels (even beach towels) are included. Basic toiletries are provided. There is a full sized washer and dryer for guests to use as often as they'd like.

This two-cottage setup is ideal for larger family reunions or groups of friends, as the other cottage allows an additional 6 guests to share the same property--but with a bit of space.

This location is centrally located to towns and lakes.We especially enjoyed sitting on the big front porch in between our activities. It is SO peaceful.On the cool night we sat around a campfire and exchanged family stories til well past our usual bed time.

We fell in love with this updated farm house. It had all of the amenities, was clean, and the property is beautiful.
The fact it's across the street from a beautiful vineyard was a bonus!

We had a great time! Location was perfect and the cottage was very clean. I just wish the king master suite was attached to the house.

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful farm cottage. It has just the right amount of historic charm while also feeling updated and clean. Melissa is also a wonderful host! We will be back!
