Groot appartement in historisch pand uit de tsarentijd midden in de rauwe voormalige gesloten Sovjet-marinestad Karosta. Om het pand is een enorme tuin. Op fietsafstand van het strand.
Het geheel is nogal versleten. Dat draagt bij, vind ik, aan de ervaring dat je in een oud pand verblijft dat vroeger van de Sovjet-marine was. Maar het is dus wel raadzaam om er rekening mee te houden dat je niet in een standaard appartement komt met nieuwe IKEA-inrichting.

Die Unterkunft ist außergewöhnlich. Riesig, aber nicht gepflegt. Ist ein Erlebnis. Mehr als die beiden Nächte hätten wir dort nicht wohnen wollen.
Die Lage ist ca. 5 Kilometer vom Zentrum entfernt, sehr "authentische" Wohngegend. Wir wären mit den angegebenen Fahrrädern in die Stadt gefahren, die standen aber nicht zur Verfügung. Erklärung unklar. Das war eigentlich unser Hauptkriterium für die Wahl der Unterkunft.
