Clos La Vigne

Clos La Vigne is well located on a quiet part of Cornas, about two blocks from the main road that runs through the town. It is a short walk to the nearby church, pizza shop and a couple of the tasting rooms. There is adequate street and public parking nearby. The host was easily reachable, friendly and helpful. The espresso machine came with a nice supply of coffee packets. There portable air conditioning unit worked well. The kitchen furnishings (refrigerator, microwave, dishware) were more than adequate. The location provided easy access to the road heading up into the hills and the surrounding vineyards.

The unit is 35 steps up a spiral staircase. On the top floor of the building, the ceiling is formed by the sloping roof with open rafters making it too easy to whack your head and the need to walk bent over. The side to the bathrub reached above my knee, making access challenging. As is often the case in older French dwellings, the toilet and bathroom sink are in separate rooms. The WiFi was barely reachable in parts of the unit, such as the dining table.
