Velvet Apartments - 56 Vicar Lane

Location is great. One of the best apartments I have ever stayed in. All mod cons, spacious, well equipped.

Great location and cosy little apartment which was perfect for our visit.

The utensils in the kitchen were a bit basic as we were cooking a meal, knives were very blunt and no frying pan but I do appreciate that not everyone would be cooking as much as we did!

The location was excellent for the city centre. Considering location it was quiet at night. The apartment was spacious and we loved the free toiletries. It warm which was welcome as we stayed in February.

Overall the cleanliness of the apartment was OK. We had to wash the glasses before using them and the drain in the shower didn't drain properly as it needed cleaning.

The location is very good. And loads of facilities.

The apartment looks great, but it had faults. The communal areas are dirty, the front door was dirty. Inside the floors were sticky and needed hoovering. In the kitchen the sides were also very sticky and we needed to clean them ourselves. We only had 1 cup for hot drinks. The radiator in the hall and the bathroom didn't work and it made it cold in there. We also only had 1 bath towel between us and nowhere to dry it. The bedroom looks great, but ruined by a cheap mattress that you could feel the springs, we both had an uncomfortable 2nights. It's such a shame. It could have been so much better.
