A beautiful retreat

A beautiful, serene apartment on the river, glorious views and very well located for walking to shops, patisseries etc as well as visiting nearby towns. We enjoyed several afternoons relaxing on the terrace. Access to a washing machine was also a bonus after several weeks traveling, as was private, secure carparking.

A beautiful, comfortable and well equipped cottage with great river views run by ultimate hosts.

Julia and John were the ultimate hosts. The cottage was completely fitted out with everything you could possibly need. It was extremely clean, neat and very comfortable. The view across the river was really lovely and it was wonderful to sit and have a glass of wine admiring the view. It was a very easy 3 minute walk in to town. We will definitely return!

Perfect place for a 2 night stopover in Chablis

Close location to town, near lots of wineries for visits. Julia & John were very helpful both before visit and on arrival/during our stay. Couldn't have asked for more.

The property was delightful, overlooking a small river it was private and peaceful. The property was spacious with lovely garden and water views as well as an outdoor area for meals or just relaxing. An easy walk into the town. The hosts John and Julia were very helpful with recommendations and assisting with restaurant reservations. We would highly recommend Riverside Lodge to other travellers.

A beautiful location with stunning gardens and a superbly decorated lodge. Very modern and very clean and well presented. The location is a 5min walk into Chablis. The garden is a beautiful peaceful place to sit and have breakfast from the local Boulanger or just to read a book.

Perfect, would love to stay there again

Location was great, within walking distance from the town center which had bakeries, supermarket, restaurants… great place to explore the area and sample wines. The house was spotless, with a well equipped kitchen, a washing machine and 2 bathrooms. It also had an outdoor area by the river where you could eat, relax…absolutely fantastic. John and Louisa created such a beautiful place.

Beautiful, immaculately clean, modern property with great views of the river and Julia’s English gardens

The moment you enter the gates you are welcomed by Julia, beautiful gardens. A path leads you to a new, modern gite that has managed to maintain its old world charm. Spacious kitchen with all of the modern conveniences of home. Large, spacious master bedroom with a place to stow all of your luggage. Wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows with crisp, delicately scented sheets. Attached bathroom is large and the shower is a dream. The heated towel rack is a luxurious treat. The living room - dining room is large with very comfortable modern furniture. Windows that overlook Julia’s beautiful gardens and the river with views of Chablis. A door leads you to a private oasis overlooking the river. We didn’t use the second floor bedroom but the views were stunning! It was chilly during our stay but we stayed warm and comfortable with new, quiet running mini splits located in the bedroom and living room. I wished we had stayed longer. The property is a short walk into Chablis proper where you will find so many lovely shops and restaurants. It’s a beautiful town!

There is not a single thing that we didn’t love about Riverside Lodge. It’s one of the best properties we have stayed in.

A glorious oasis in Chablis

I almost hesitate to write this review, because this is an incredibly special place and we want to keep it for ourselves! The hosts were amazing, the apartment is new, the garden is glorious, the river burbles beautifully nearby and the town is a stone's throw away. The apartment has so many modern conveniences which are sometimes missing from older houses - we really appreciated the large spaces, towel warmers and coffee machine. In short: perfect!

Absolutely fabulous two bedroom gite. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. John & Julia are the perfect hosts; friendly and enthusiastic about everything and so knowledgeable on the area. We will certainly be staying again if visiting the area :)

A perfect stay in wonderful Chablis

Stunning location, a really nice conversion with well thought out garden by the beautiful - also the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in a rental, or possibly anywhere. John and Julia were also the consummate hosts and couldn't have made our stay better. Top recommendations, very kind, and very helpful. Their puppies also were very friendly and a great joy for our daughter!

Not a thing, the ultimate stay. If i had to pick one fault it was that their place is so popular there wasn't availability to stay for longer! We will just have to come back.

Wonderful rooms, great proximity to the city and vineyards

The quality of the gîte was fantastic, the airconditioned rooms spacious and comfortable and the shower excellent. The garden is exceptionally pretty and obviously very well cared for. I love that it is a short walk to the city centre of Chablis where you can find numerous bakeries and excellent restaurants. Also the proximity to other wine regions was very nice, however that is just part of begin located in Chablis. The hosts were very hospitable and as we told then, we will definitely come back.

Perfection

We have been living in France foe 16 years so have done lots of visits back to the U.K. and also to Spain. From around 50 hotels, gites and b& bs where we have stayed we have never had such a perfect visit. Absolutely nothing wrong. It was amazing and we are planning our return

Magnifique appartement, très bien équipé ( tout y est pour cuisiner). Récemment rénové, tout semble neuf! Joli terrasse attenante à la rivière. Julia, la propriétaire, nous a même laissé un pot de lait pour notre café!

Schoon verblijf van alle gemakken voorzien op een top lokatie in het prachtige Chablis.

Prachtig en super schoon appartement, twee slaapkamers, twee badkamers. Eigen terras aan het water eigen afgesloten parkeerplaats bij de lokatie. Koffie en alle andere benodigdheden aanwezig. Zeer vriendelijk en hartelijk beheerders echtpaar. Heerlijke bedden.
