The Retreat

All great, loved the space, so much nicer than a hotel, but with all the things you'd expect in a hotel. Plus the adorable outside spaces and the use of the little garden room. And fabulous hosts - very welcoming and friendly.

Only having french doors meant that because of the rain (allelujah, at last!) I couldn't sleep with an open window which is one of the reasons I didn't want to stay in a regular hotel. But that can't be changed so no point labouring that. But worth noting just in case it's a deal breaker.

We had a lovely couple of days here and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The private room was comfortable, clean and welcoming, and having direct access to the garden was a wonderful bonus—it made the space feel peaceful and relaxing. The whole experience was enjoyable, and the accommodation provided everything we needed for a comfortable break. We would happily recommend staying here and would love to return in the future.

No breakfast supplied but a comfy garden room that could be used and as it was such a lovely day we were allowed to eat it in their garden. We also used the microwave in there for our meal the previous night as we didn’t want to go out again. Fridge also available in the same room. The garden room was rustic but very comfortable and the whole experience was excellent value for money.

Bed only a double and little on the soft side for my back but that’s only our preference. We understand that there is not a huge space to work with.

Lovely location and facilities. Such an unusual property.
