Coombe Place House in Meonstoke, Hampshire, sleeps fifteen in eight rooms.

This home has an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, two utilities, a dining room, and two sitting rooms with open fires, along with a super-king-size bedroom with Smart TV and en-suite, a king-size, three doubles, a twin, a single, and a family room; all are serviced by a bathroom, two shower rooms and a cloakroom. Appliances include an electric oven, induction hob, gas Range, microwave, fridge/freezer, two washing machines, and two tumble dryers, and for entertainment, a Smart TV. Outside there is an enclosed rear garden with patio, lawn and furniture, a walled garden, and a private, gated driveway. Four well-behaved dogs welcomed, but sorry, no smoking. You'll find a shop in 1 mile, a pub in 0.8 miles, and River Meon in 1.6 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. The house was lovely: however I would not recommend booking through Sykes/Vrbo, because if you need to cancel you lose 40% of the cost. You can pay a bit more and be able to cancel without penalty on other websites. Vrbo tried to contact the hosts on my behalf multiple times by phone and email, but without success so gave up. I messaged the hosts the week before our stay with a different query - no reply. When we got there the dishwasher didn’t work properly, leaving cutlery and some plates and dishes dirty. The family room did not have a single bed, but some kind of padded small sofa with cushions, which was not made up. The living space was good with two lounge areas and a dining room table that seated 15 - a big plus. The hot tub was a hit, and the patio had lovely countryside views, although a couple of paving stones were missing so you had to watch your step.For a stay of 36 hours and my experience of the hosts ignoring any attempts to contact them, it was not worth trying to get any resolution while we were there.
