Stonewell Farmhouse is a beautifully renovated luxury Cotswold holiday home which sleeps 16 guests in eight welcoming bedrooms, six ensuites and two generously sized family bathrooms. On the ground floor, a well-equipped country kitchen occupies the heart of the house, leading off to a spacious dining room. The comfortable living room offers stunning countryside views from the ample seating for guests to enjoy whilst nestled in front of the wood burning stove. The original stone steps leading into the children's games room in the basement are uneven and steep, the room also has a low beam and restricted head room. A permanent stair gate has been fitted so access to this room can be restricted
The dining/snooker room has an open water well in the floor which is covered with mesh and iron grated. Children and pets should be supervised in this room at all times
Please keep drinks, food & any other items likely to soil the snooker table baize away from the table. Any marks left following your stay will endeavour to be treated, however any professional cleaning fees or baize replacement will be taken from the security deposit
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk

Overall our family get together was a great success and the space offered was good but as a mixed age group we all felt very sleep deprived after 4 days…. The beds and plllows were top quality… but the bedrooms are arranged on two floors and EVERY floor and staircase creaked…. enough to disturb the sleep of our whole party Also the location is well out of Great Tew and near a very busy road.

The house is spacious, with plenty of bedrooms to comfortably accommodate a large group, making it ideal for family gatherings or holidays with friends. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of cosy spots to relax together after a day exploring the countryside.

Hired the farmhouse to be the centre piece of 3 70th birthday celebrations. The property was exactly what we were looking for. Large enough for the whole party of 14, clean and well equipped. A fantastic place to host a 60th birthday celebration with a group of close friends. Stunning house, beautifully decorated in a great location with everything available for you to settle in quickly and focus on fun. Kitchen was well appointed for our private chef and the wonderful Falkland Arms a comfortable 45 minute walk away. A faultless experience from booking to departure - we will definitely be back!

The farmhouse is gorgeous. The games room and hot tub kept the kids entertained during our holiday. There were 15 of us shed 3 to 80! The only issue is the creaky floors, it really was loud and meant that once the first person got up in the morning it woke the whole house. I think this would be costly to address but is a real issue. Other than this the house was perfect with all supplies eg dishwasher tabs, cleaning stuff provided.

We recently celebrated a special family birthday in Stonewell Farmhouse (Friday to Monday). We had a wonderful time at the cottage which was well stocked with everything we needed for a large party including 2 dish washers! The property was clean, bright and welcoming. It has a large garden, barbeque area and a hot tub in a secluded sunny spot. The snooker table come dining table was a hit with everyone. I would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful spacious cottage with wonderful views of the surrounding area.

Fabulous weekend at Tew Farmhouse, lovely comfortable spacious house, loved the little extras like White Company Products, dog treats and leads, would definitely stay again, had so much fun playing snooker and in the hot tub and so much outside space to enjoy also only negative was the sound travels through the house due to the lovely wooden floorboards throughout but we did have noisy guests in our group!!

We had a lovely family birthday weekend for 14 in this spacious and well equipped farmhouse which is in a beautiful rural setting. We were disappointed that the hot tub was out of action but the snooker table and games room kept teenagers and adults amused. They also enjoyed the outdoor tennis court. Great Tew is a pretty village and other delightful Cotswold places are within easy reach by car. My only complaint is that we had so many emails with information from Stay Cotswold and from Tew Barns that it was hard to remember where the information was when we wanted to refer back to it- we would have preferred some old fashioned paper information to refer to at the property. Also, older members would have liked grab rails in the showers. But overall, it is an ideal place for a relaxing and active holiday for a group of mixed ages.

Everything about our stay at the Tew Farmhouse for a special family birthday was perfect. The Farmhouse was immaculate and more than surpassed our expectations. It easily accommodated our family of 15, including young children and three dogs. The farmhouse was finished to a very high standard and supplied everything that was needed on a day to day basis. The arrival and departure were very smooth and we particularly liked the freedom of arriving and being left alone to settle in. Contact numbers were available if any help or assistance were required. The one occasion we needed some advice, regarding using the electric car charger, the response was quick and efficient. The location was ideal for walks and access to the cafe and pub in Great Tew. Overall we loved our stay and can’t wait to return very soon.

We booked for a weekend stay for my wife's 60th birthday. We had 14 adults, 2 children, 2 infants and 3 dogs. There was plenty of room for everyone. Each bedroom was very roomy with 6 en-suites. The cleanliness was spot on. The little hideaway with a air/pool table was ideal for the youngsters. The huge dining table which turned into a full size snooker table kept the adults entertained. Genius idea!! Gorgeous location for walks...amazing.

We booked for a large family gathering, aged 3 to 91 years old, to celebrate a 90th birthday and an early Christmas. The property was well laid out and comfortable with enough space for us all to be together, but also offered smaller spaces for those who wanted to do something different. The accommodation is comfortable, although the wooden floors on the upper levels are particularly noisy which can cause some disturbance at night time. Some members of our group needed occasionally to work whilst at the property and there are no suitable surfaces in any rooms for setting up and working on a lap-top except in the main dining area, which is open plan and adjoins the kitchen. The location is ideal for visiting other parts of the Cotswolds by car and there is a very good pub, (Falkland Arms), just over one mile away. Finding a property of this size which can comfortably accommodate a large mixed age group of people is not easy and we would definitely return.

Our group of 13 stayed at Stonewell Farmhouse for the weekend and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The house is stunning, spacious, beautifully designed and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect setting for our group, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. We enjoyed relaxing indoors by the fire during Storm Darragh, it truly felt like the perfect place to spend quality time together. We recently stayed at this stunning house for a work retreat, and once again, it exceeded all our expectations. Every room having its own bathroom was an absolute luxury and made the stay incredibly comfortable for our group. The house itself is impeccably designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure guests have everything they could need. Despite the wild weather brought by Storm Bert, the house was wonderfully warm and cozy, making it the perfect haven for our stay. The access instructions were clear and straightforward, which made arrival stress-free. Plus, its location couldn’t be better—just an easy 18-minute walk to Soho Farmhouse, which was ideal for us. This was actually our second stay here, having had an equally fantastic time last year. It's rare to find a place that combines style, comfort, and convenience so perfectly. The entire house and grounds are of the highest standard with space for everyone to relax or enjoy fun and games. The bedrooms and facilities are modern, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. A very well equipped kitchen and larder area made catering easy. We appreciated the quiet spaces too and the privacy of the BBQ area and hot tub. The well maintained grassy areas enabled ball games to be played safely and there are pleasant walks from the property. We found the owners accessible and quick to respond to any issues. For a special family gathering, this house is ideal. We would recommend soft indoor footwear as the upper floorboards do creak. We recommend the Duck on the Pond in Stoke Newington for Sunday lunch

Our family party of nine stayed at the property for a 50th birthday celebration and it was perfect! The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for everyone and a bathroom for each room. The house is very well equipped with lots of storage space and entertainment. The hot tub, snooker table and air hockey were very popular! The grounds were great for walking the dog and we made use of the tennis court. We had excellent weather so were able to eat outside in the private garden. We also went on one of the lovely walks recommended in the house details. We would definitely return.

Fourteen family members, aged from 8 to 73, all enjoyed a superb weekend at Stonewell Farmhouse. The hot tub was a real hit with the youngsters among us, as was the air hockey and pool table. The older members enjoyed the snooker table and just chilling in the grounds and indoors. Catering for fourteen was really easy with all the high spec kitchen equipment (although we were surprised not to discover any espresso cups). The bedrooms were excellent and the beds very comfortable. Highly recommended.

From the moment we booked Stonewell farmhouse the communication with Stay Cotswold and then with the owners of the property was fantastic! The cottage its self was warm, beautifully decorated and had a brilliant layout downstairs. A particular highlight was the dining table which converted into a snooker table ! Upstairs every bedroom had a bathroom which was great although 2 of the bathrooms were across the corridor and one only had a bath, but that wasn’t a big issue ! Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there but the grounds were beautiful! Our top tip would be don’t try and walk on the main road into Great Tew village as the road is v dangerous instead take the footpath behind the house for a beautiful walk to the pub which takes about 30-40 minutes! All in all a fantastic stay and I would recommend the property highly !

I can’t completely describe just how amazing our stay was at Stonewell Farmhouse. The house itself was absolutely beautiful.. we were all completely in love with it. The decor was beautiful and every single detail that had been put into decorating it was spot on. It was large enough to not fall over each other (there were 8 couples) but set out in a way in which you could all spend time together when you wanted. The kitchen was fully kitted out and had every utensil you could need, one of the most beautiful kitchens I have cooked in. Laura was incredibly responsive and very helpful! The only flaw I could find in the house was that my partner has not mastered the art of tiptoeing so everyone could hear him walking on the creaky floorboards, but that only added to the charm and authenticity of staying in a farmhouse. We had the best weekend and I am 100% going to try and come back with the same group every time I return from Australia.

We were very impressed with the house, it had absolutely everything we needed for a long weekend away with friends. 14 of us stayed and were all really comfortable. The kitchen was so well stocked with crockery and equipment and it was amazing to have the 2 fridges and the wine cooler! The gifts for the dogs was a lovely touch, and the basket of towels for the hot tub was really well thought about. We found a nice walk to the pub, it took around 30 minutes so was perfect. The only negatives for us which didn't take away from how beautiful everything else was were the following; - The downstairs toilet was really grubby inside, none of the ladies wanted to use it so had to go upstairs. - Due to the wooden floors the sound of people moving around was really loud, maybe some more rugs would help.

We booked as large group of friends for a long and were not disappointed, more than enough space for everyone to mill around Great fun to be had with the games room, hot tub and snooker table. Everything has been thought of for comfort and a touch of luxury. We would highly recommend this to anyone for either friends or family. The local pub the Falkland Arms is a wonderful friendly place (its small so if you're a large group book in advance) - Gluten Free menus are above an beyond. Definitely hoping to return - thank you.

We were 14 adults ranging from the ages of 20 to 67. Stonewell is a lovely, warm house equipped to a very high standard. The kitchen had plenty of crockery and cutlery and space to prepare food and drinks. The snooker table was well used and it was especially nice that it was situated within the house, rather than in an annexe or barn. The hot tub too was a great hit with everyone. Everywhere was clean and comfortable, with plenty of towels and lovely bedrooms. The only difficulty we had was that although there was plenty of very hot water to the kitchen sink, many of us found showers going cold after a minute or minute and a half. It didn’t seem to matter what time of day or which floor of the house it was, there just wasn’t enough hot water to shower comfortably, which was frustrating. One of our party attempted to run a bath, but after running a couple of inches of tepid water, gave up. This was disappointing. Others have mentioned the creaky floors, but for us the main issue was insufficient hot water in the showers.

We rented the cottage for a work gathering. Several of us are members of Soho House and were searching for a cottage nearby, but with more space than the ones on the farm. This house was absolutely perfect. There was ample room for all 14 of us, featuring a great variety of rooms with twin beds, doubles, and kings, each equipped with its own bathroom. The house offered so much space, both indoors and outdoors, that we never felt crowded. The dining room was spacious, boasting a beautiful table where we could all comfortably sit together. The kitchen was also impeccably stocked, and having 2 dishwashers was a dream come true. Every detail had been carefully considered, and I have recommended the house to many of my friends. If I had to mention any drawbacks, I would point out the creaky floorboards, which were mentioned in previous reviews. We used earplugs and didn't hear a thing. Additionally, I suggest sharpening the knives as we had difficulty cutting vegetables. Lastly, for music enthusiasts, the Bose mini speaker in the kitchen isn't very loud, so I recommend bringing your own speakers. These are all minor issues that didn't diminish our overall experience. I am eagerly looking forward to returning. Thank you so much for providing us with such a delightful stay.

We had an amazing family gathering of 14 for my 80th celebration with children, grandchildren and sibling. Tew Farmhouse provided us with masses of comfortable space to relax, catch up with university age grandchildren, play billards, tennis, and explore locally. The kitchen is very well equipped and we loved the walk-in larder. One small moan, it would be good to have a soap dish in the shower. We soon got used to the creaky floorboards!

We had a fantastic time staying at Stonewell Farmhouse for a birthday celebration. We were a mixture of adults and children and the facilities were excellent for both. It is incredibly well maintained and everything you might need is supplied, from kitchen utensils to tea, coffee and some excellent cakes. We chose to stay here for a long weekend to celebrate various birthdays, anniversaries and achievements together as a family. There were 14 of us including several children and Stonewall Farmhouse was the perfect fit. We had plenty of space and one bonus was the huge dining table that could accommodate all of us so that we were able to eat together. The pool table underneath was a stroke of genius and kept us all entertained for hours. The children also loved the basement room with its air hockey table. The kitchen was spotless and brilliantly stocked with more than enough crockery and cutlery - everything had been thought of. The two dishwashers were very welcome too. The pantry and large fridge were amazing - in fact both of the fridges were used. The bathrooms were all immaculate with the wonderful addition of Method liquid hand soap, White Company miniature toiletries and even decent quality toilet roll plus sensor lights in bathrooms and on landings. Details in the bedroom such as full length mirrors, smaller make-up mirrors and bedside wall plug sockets were excellent. The bedding and towels were spotless with no shortage of towels. The pillows were lovely too. The fresh flowers were beautiful, a gorgeous touch, and the spare dog bowls & leads were also a fantastic idea should we have needed them. Our only other feedback would be: The floorboards do creak, as other reviews have said, but its a beautiful old house so it's to be expected. A clearer house name on the gate would have been useful as some of our party were accidentally trying to enter the gate code into next-door's house on arrival! It would also be nice to know if there are any walking paths near the house as it is on a main country lane. Some take-away/delivery menus/food recommendations in a drawer or on the side would be a good idea. Tilly & Laura at StayCotswold were both super helpful during the booking process. We would definitely visit again and we would definitely recommend Stonewall Farmhouse to others. I do hope we will be back soon.
