A Step from the Lake Apartment

Great location, on a quiet street close to the Duomo. Renovated apartment, including the bathroom appliances. It was nice to find two complimentary coffee capsules and most of the basics you’d need in an apartment (e.g., hangers, cutlery, plates, glasses, etc.). The check-in procedure (including identity verification) is convenient because it’s completed online. The instructions provided were clear (including visuals), and I got quick answers to my questions via Whatsapp.

You have to go to a different address to pick up and drop off the keys. It’s about 7 minutes away, but it still eats up time and makes it inconvenient especially if you’re carrying heavy luggage. Surely that could be arranged at the location? There was dust in the apartment, and one of the comforters was shabby and stained, which made it digusting to use — all that despite the hefty cleaning fee included in the price. At 10 am, on the first morning there, I already got a text with instructions for checking-out the following day — including an emphasis on checking out by 10 am and having us waste time to go drop off the keys at another address (as mentioned earlier). Maybe the message is set up automatically to be sent 24 hours before check-out time, but we found it rude. We had barely arrived and checked in the previous evening and already we were made to feel like the owner could not wait to have us out of there. Also, it would have been nice to get coffee capsules for each of the days (as in other apartments), as well as some essentials: trash bags, a trash can in the kitchen, paper towel, dishwashing liquid and a sponge. Finally, on asking for a single invoice rather than three separate invoices (in order to allow for my full expenses to be deducted, which is not the case with the three separate invoices), I was given the unsurprising — and ever-frustrating— answer one unfortunately tends to get all too often in Italy: “it is not possible.” All in all, it was an ok experience, but I would very likely choose a different place if I had to start over.

Super Lage, fußläufig in wenigen Minuten in der Stadt. Sehr positiv zu erwähnen sind die Rolladen, für jeden, der es beim schlafen gerne dunkel hat. Sehr guter Austausch mit dem Gastgeber per WhatsApp. Waschmaschine.

Leider gab es keine Wäscheleine bzw. einen Wäscheständer.
