Beautiful room, very comfortable and spacious

Poor sound insulation: our room was on the street side (halfway below street level) and coincidentally right below a very noisy party in the building.

Quite good location. Free, although average bikes available to use. Linen was good.

Poor security, anyone could get into the hotel and up to our floor level at 23:30 at night. No aircon in our room.

Location is fabulous and great to start and end a lot of Amsterdam long days. Interior is free and sensible.

Dust. They do not clean or dust the place right. Maybe that was additional work outside or just that tumor of the year but nobody is checking the quality.

Beautiful historic building with stylish interiors and a great atmosphere in the communal areas. The location is also excellent - close to Central Station, the waterfront and plenty of shops.

Unfortunately, two service issues significantly affected our stay. We accidentally left a special bottle of wine in the room fridge and contacted the hotel later the same day, but were told nothing had been found. The first person we spoke to also failed to come back to us as promised, and it took several calls to get any follow-up. We were ultimately left with no explanation. For a hotel charging over £210 a night without breakfast, I would expect better handling of lost property and more proactive service. Separately, while looking for the hotel bar, we walked into a private function because there was no signage indicating that the area was closed to guests. We only realised when one of the attendees told us, which made for an unnecessarily awkward situation. A simple sign would have avoided this entirely. Most of the staff were pleasant, but these two incidents left us disappointed with the overall level of service.
