About this villa rental
Casa Mocho is a charming villa located in the desirable area of Calicas near to the Meia Praia beach. This villa offers great privacy around the pool and gardens and boasts stunning country views towards the Monchique Mountains. The peacefulness and tranquility at Casa Mocho is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.
With 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin beds) and 3 bathrooms the villa offers the perfect retreat for a family holiday in the sun.
Casa Mocho has a very large driveway offering parking for multiple cars with a lockable gate to keep little ones from leaving the grounds! At the rear of the villa is an enclosed patio area with a built-in BBQ area and sink. Here you enter the villa through the back door into a lobby area off which is a small utility room with a washing machine and secondary fridge/freezer (beer and wine fridge). There is also the door into the spacious kitchen which has granite counter tops and splash backs and a breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and large built-in fridge/freezer.
From the kitchen you go into the dining area of the open plan living space where there 's a dining table and chairs for 6 people. Then on to the lounge area which has a sofa and 2 retro arm chairs, a TV with UK BBC and ITV channels, Netflix, etc, plus a router providing high-speed internet access.
Leading off from the lounge is the master bedroom which has a large en suite comprising a shower cubicle, toilet, basin, bidet and full sized bath. A corridor at the other end of the villa leads to the 2 other bedrooms and 2 further bathrooms, 1 comprising a shower, toilet, basin and bidet and a larger family bathroom with the addition of a full sized bath. All bedrooms, the lounge and the dining room have air conditioning units supplying cooling in the summer and heating in the winter.
From the lounge patio doors lead out to the fully enclosed pool terrace - a lovely place for al fresco dining at the outside dining table! The kidney shaped pool, which can be heated (at extra cost), is approximately 5m x 10m with Roman steps at one end. Around the private and secluded pool, along with the dining table and chairs, are 6 sun loungers to relax on. From the pool terrace are stairs leading up to the roof terrace with its amazing views across the valley all the way to the Monchique Mountains - a perfect place for sun-downers!
From the side and the rear of the villa are mature gardens - great for children to explore when they tire of the pool. The entire area is fenced with the only access being via the front gates.
Casa Mocho is located about 2 kilometers from Lagos Marina, with its bars and restaurants, which is a short walk over the footbridge into Lagos town. The villa is also 2 kilometers from the beautiful Meia Praia beach with all it's facilities (various sports activities, bars and restaurants, etc).
A car is recommended at this villa as the lane from the Marina doesn't have pavements making walking difficult.

We had a lovely relaxing stay; really enjoyed both pool and the roof terrace. The villa was really well appointed. The aircon was super too as it got very warm out.

Spacious property with all the facilities we needed during the holidays. Most of the sanitary facilities have been renovated and everything works without any problems. Outdoor furniture by the pool, worn due to the weather. High level of privacy, which comes at a price due to a demanding access road. Central and close to the sea, Lagos, golf courses, motorways/expressways and shopping. Uncomplicated, good administration and support from the agency. Own car required, access narrow and confusing. For us, a perfect and lovely stay and recommended without any restrictions.

The process of renting was straightforward, the communication with the company straightforward.
The Villa is in serious need of some TLC, the listing pictures are not a true reflection of the condition of the villa. We had to pay 180 euros for the pool to be heated, ironically leading to it being warmer than the water in the actual villa. Whilst the handyman tried his best to resolve the issue it led to either no hot water or a level that would scold someone, rendering the showers unsafe for the children to use. There were mould spores in both of the double rooms, the patio areas were dirty and not suitable for walking around barefoot. The paintwork on the exterior of the villa is grubby, with visible signs of damp. In the welcome booklet it explained about a maid service, including a linen change, this did not happen. The villa has so much potential and the layout is great, the pool was fantastic. Unfortunately the villa is not in the condition it is advertised in, we have pictures should you wish to see them.
