Hotel Mewari is in a good location, it's easy to walk down the road and sights like the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and local restaurants are reachable on foot in 10-15 minutes. The staff were super friendly and helpful, even when we needed to visit a tailor a tuktuk was organised for us at a very reasonable price. Room was clean and wifi was strong, the building's interiors and restaurant are very pretty and designed in a typical Udaipur style. The restaurant also has great views and decent food.
As with many hotels with a view in Udaipur, the hotel is up a very long, steep flight of stairs which proved tricky for my companion with mobility issues. Additionally, although it was not the hotel's fault, we went during wedding season in November and there is no sound proofing, you can easily hear very loud traffic and music from the street below and across the lake. Shower in the room was good but hot water does run out after a while.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The building in general is very impressive and the food offered in the roof top restaurant is delicious. The decor is tastefully done and the staff is welcoming.
There is a bit of a climb to get to the hotel from the main street which can be tiring for elderly.
