The world of Astrid Lindgren is only 20 kilometres away. There you will meet Emil in Lönneberga, Pippi Långstrump, Karlsson on the roof and other characters from Astrid's books. Vimmerby is also home to Astrid's childhood home, Näs, with a beautiful garden. It is also close to Katthult and Bullerbyn. A great place to holiday for families with children. In Mariannelund you can visit a caramel factory and buy Småland caramels. If you would like to go on an elk safari, the best place to go is Virum Älgpark. There you can pet and feed the large animals. If you want to go swimming and enjoy good food at the same time, we recommend a visit to Spilhammar campsite, a scenic area with access to hiking trails around lakes.
