Ô Anges

We had a great stay! Hosts extremely knowledgeable about the area and meant we saw lots of things we didn't plan. Room was spacious and quirky with lots of interesting art work. Bathroom modern and all facilities good. Breakfast was fabulous each morning with lovely fruit, eggs and pastries. Location perfectly 👌

We can't think of anything we didn't enjoy!

It's a 17th Century building and conveys that sense of history sensitively. Emmanuelle and George are most welcoming and helpful in every way. Emmanuelle has an encyclopaedia knowledge to guide you in whatever elements of Arles history or culture that interests you and speaks with passion about the gem that is Arles. Everything was delightful, breakfast, the decor, a comfy bed. I could listen to Emmanuelle talk about Arles and it's history until the sun sets! Emmanuelle's English is excellent and George was very tolerant of my attempts at French - we laughed! Some may find Ô Anges quirky, I found it enchanting!

The location of O Anges was excellent, in a traffic free area of the city, a 15-minute walk along the river bank from the railway station. We had been given precise instructions prior to arrival by our hosts and found the location easily, in fact, Georges, the husband was looking out for us. A very warm welcome from Georges and his wife, Emmanuelle. A beautiful house which they have lovingly restored and filled with artistic treasures. The hosts, although not originally from Arles, are very proud of the city and once we had settled into our room, spent some time giving us information about places to visit in the city and environs and also places to eat. We had breakfast each day in the shady courtyard at the back of the house and enjoyed chatting with the owners about our plans for the day. The weather was unseasonably warm during our stay so we much appreciated the a/c and shutters on the windows. There is so much to do in Arles itself and the surrounding area. Georges and Emmanuelle are the perfect hosts. Warm and friendly but without being intrusive. We hope very much to return on a future occasion.

Nothing to dislike.

Arles 'old town' is more or less car free, with absolutely no parking, which we knew about, thanks to Emmanuelle. She gave us very good advice on where to park etc, which was spot on. She and Georges welcomed us warmly and gave us a very good virtual tour with the help of a map, where she'd marked the places of interest and good eateries. Our room was full of art, we were in a very arty city after all! It was a good size with easy chairs and a small table, as well as tea-making facilities. There was also air conditioning, which was much appreciated in the unseasonal heatwave.The breakfast was lovely, we enjoyed it in the peaceful courtyard and happily chatted with other guests. It felt like we were staying with family - in a good way! I'd definitely recommend.
