The advance information and care from Valentine was almost overwhelming. However, her warmth and charm was very seductive and I have to give the staff 200% points for going out of their way for all our needs. The bathroom was very large as well as the bedroom. Unfortunately the lighting in the bedroom was not adequate and now I wish I had asked for a lighter room when we were shown the room. The television reception was non-functional so I just left it. A bathrobe and slippers were provided. They were without a doubt the best hotel slippers I ever had! The hotel is in an old building and does have character. It is also on a lovely square.

Location. Bed was comfortable.
Wifi wasn't working. Staff said could be weather but had just stayed at Amphitheatre hotel in next street and internet was fast. No shower. No kettle when requested. Bath took long to fill as water pressure slow. No English speaking news channel working. Wardrobe was a beautiful antique but impractical. Compared to Amphitheatre hotel this hotel was substantially more expensive per night and yet was inferior to the Amphitheatre hotel. MUCH noisier too.
