Fox Lodge at Heygates Lodging - with hot tub

The hosts were so lovely and helpful! We had all we needed to chill for the weekend, the hot tub was perfect looking out to the canal and plenty of different places to sit for a different feel! The lodge was cosy and had all we needed inside!

We just loved everything! The host, the cabin, the location. Everything was perfect.

Liz, our host, was just lovely and welcoming. Liz kept me informed and updated from the minute I made the booking and throughout. She was readily available when we were a little lost and so warm in welcoming us. The location was amazing! Quite private with a lovely decked area to the back that over-looked the canal. Surrounded by trees and sunshine, it was lovely. The Cabin 😍 it was amazing! We just loved it. The high bed was very comfortable, beautiful fresh linen and comfy pillows. The kitchen facilities were fab and there was everything we needed and more. So well thought out and presented. The little bathroom was perfect with a lovely double shower. Also beautifully presented and very clean. Perfect! Such a shame we didn't get to use the little burner inside the cabin, but will look forward to it when we visit in the winter. The cabin has so many big and little touches that we loved and didn't expect. Hooves on the deck in the morning that woke us was a lovely, unexpected wake up call. The outside area is fabulous! The hot tub was just amazing and located at the side for privacy. It's an Eco tub and easy to get started. We relaxed in it at sunset with a glass and watched the bats feeding above the canal. How lovely. The fire pit is located perfectly so you can see it from all areas. We loved lighting this in the evening. It was so cosy! The barbeque was fab and we had the best meal on it. The hammock was a nice touch too. The little decking at the side was just lovely. We sat there for hours as it's a lovely sun trap, overlooking the canal with barges passing now and again. Right between you and the canal is a large shrub that attracts butterflies all day long. The cabin is surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies which was just incredible.

I don’t feel you could come here for didn’t drive, in terms of shops etc but that is also part of the experience being far away
