Fijne en bijzondere locatie, in oude Chinese wijk (sfeervol) en ook dicht bij het Disney park.

Our kind host made us feel welcome and comfortable. A friendly place in a quiet alley, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Cross the river and find even more restaurants and, if desired, a place with a Western-style breakfast. A DiDi ride tot the East gate of the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park takes only 10 minutes and costs a few yuan. A DiDi ride to the South gate is, as we found out, also possible. The English speaking host can arrange tickets for the park for you (we bought them elsewhere, for no particular reason). The rooms are good and downright cheap. The beds are hard, but we found that a minor inconvenience given the all in all atmosphere, value and friendliness of the place. Recommended.

Rain (the host) is a lovely person who gave us a great welcome and was very helpful. He booked all of the national park attractions for us and explained in detail how to explore them. He also kindly offered us tea at various points and took time to get to know us. The hostel is homely and comfortable, and it is a great budget option for any backpackers exploring China!

If I were to criticise anything I would say the location is a little far out of Wulingyuan, however it is not an issue due to the low prices of the DiDi driver app.
