Fabulous. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from the lady who spoke very good English. The location, building, room and communal area including cooking facilities were all excellent. Secure parking for bikes. The house is in a very quiet location with free range chickens, geese and deer. A lovely small town with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and fuel stations.

A rejuvenating stay!

A wonderful overnight stop on our way down to Spain. Fabulous setting in woodland, delicious food, a comfy room and a welcoming host. We were exhausted when we arrived but left refreshed and feeling we’d been on holiday for ages!

Beautifully furnished and spacious room. Everything was spotlessly clean. Location is quiet and feels close to nature even though close to town centre. Great breakfast. Very pleasant and welcoming host.

A delightful place for a relaxing stay.

The accommodation was spotless. The immediate surroundings were very tranquil with a short woodland walk. The building and gardens were lovely. Great setting for the good breakfast provided. The host was very helpful and booked a meal for us.

A minor point. The freestanding air conditioning was effective but somewhat noisy.

Restful sleep after a long drive.

We were asked what we would like and she provided all of it plus more. Fresh warm croissants, delicious food. Lovely jam , cheese and baguette. The host was very helpful as I’m a bit disabled, she gave me the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. What a peaceful place to stay. I highly recommend it.

A simple vet well presented tin

The breakfast was excellent. A continental breakfast but it was so fresh and plentiful that it was a delight. The setting of being on the back patio in her garden was just beautiful. What a great way to start the day

Comfort and calm stay in a wooded setting.

Set down a driveway in woodland, a haven of peace and quiet just outside the centre of Lamotte. There are also a few log cabins in the grounds. Very comfortable and spacious room (downstairs). Madame prepared an excellent Table d'Hote meal. Please note that outside shoes are not permitted in the property so slippers are a good idea, but Madame provides shoe covers.

Hidden gem

It's just off the road but you feel like you're in a forest. The whole house is decorated in a style that matches the surroundings and the host is friendly. We were welcomed with a cup of coffee and had a lovely breakfast the next day, with lots of fruit and a selection of cheeses. Everything is really clean and well taken care of.

The door of the bathroom is a bit noisy but that's really all there is :D

Luxurious tranquility .....mostly.

This was a repeat stay for us and the positives remain the same as for our previous review. Overall this is a lovely place to stay and we will return. We look for secure parking, a very comfortable bed, a clean and spacious room/bathroom and a peaceful location. This charming B and B ticks all these boxes. Ewa, the host is delightful - she takes care of every detail for your comfort and offers a warm welcome.

These comments should be taken in the context of the current, prevailing heatwave - August 2022 (daytime temperatures 35o ++) Our room was extremely hot due to its south/west facing position. Although a fan was provided it was not adequate to cool the otherwise large, airy and lovely room. There were large windows and veluxes which were also fully open. The wooded location and garden watering system attracted a large number of thirsty wasps which prevented enjoyment of the otherwise lovely 'grounds' which are nice to mooch around in the evening/morning. The owner confirmed that a 'wasp man' had found no evidence of a nest on the premises!

amazing host! didn’t speak much English but the most welcoming person ever. had the best stay, arrived late on a Sunday so naturally everything in France is closed. lady made us an unforgettable meal, was one of our trip highlights. gorgeous B and B with a real authentic and unique decor.

Perfect, I recommend the place.

The breakfast was perfect with a variety of products. Good bread and pastries. And even if it was optional the host prepare for us a very tasty dinner at our arrival. The place is very calm and quiet.

Comfortable quiet stay with a very friendly host in a convenient location

Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of items. The only issue was that we had requested an early breakfast but the host unfortunately got the time wrong so we had to rush. The property was spotlessly clean and the owner arranged a table for us in a wonderful local restaurant for our evening meal.

Would have liked Tea & Coffee making facilities in the room rather than using the downstairs kitchen

Outstanding place to stay if you like “off the beaten track”

For us, just about everything was perfect! The owner is the consummate host and works tirelessly to make this the perfect place to stay. There is so much attention to small details from the little bedside torches to the lovely quality bedding, warming towel rails, garden illuminations etc etc. In addition she could not have been more obliging, for example allowing us to put our ice packs in her freezer overnight and laying out a pretty table outdoors for us to enjoy our picnic supper ( Covid times!!!) The setting is truly lovely - a clearing in mature woodland - but we imagine it could be difficult to find in the dark. Go right to the end of the ‘track ‘ and you will find it. All the fixtures and fittings are top quality and tasteful and part of an overall style rather than simple functionality. This gave a homey but very personal feel which could be too much for some. This place felt safe and secure The breakfast was delicious, typically French although we were offered a choice of English if we wanted. The bread products (4types!!) were fantastic and the fresh orange juice , jams and coffee really good. Our thanks for a great stay

It is not the case that we did not like it as we understand that the host is very proud of her home and very exacting about behaviour within it. For example taking off your shoes and leaving them outside in the porch, parking in allotted slots with military precision. We could imagine that some may find her approach over fussy and involved, although we were happy to respect all her wishes which were reasonable if highly regulatory.

Super fijne tussenstop vanuit Spanje terug naar Nederland direct aan de snelweg. De gezinskamer was heel handig en er stond een babybedje klaar op aanvraag. Ontbijt was ook helemaal top. Aanrader!

Klein minpuntje was de hardheid van het matras, een topper zou geen overbodige luxe zijn. Maar voor één nachtje is dit verwaarloosbaar.
