Historical apartment with sea view rooftop

The location was great. Walking distance to the ferry and everything in town. The neighborhood is definitely old Greece at its best. Alberto and family were great hosts. They were waiting for us when we arrived, and gave us good recommendations for restaurants. Food in the area was magnificent. Everything about the property was outstanding. It was clean and spacious, and we made good use of the rooftop patio. Everything was beyond our expectations and we highly recommend this property.

The property was very beautiful as expected and the location was fantastic. However, we were very dissatisfied with the communication with the property owner. Firstly, when we checked in he made comments about not having male company stay over which was very insulting. He did not inform us that neighbours also use a part of the rooftop, which was uncomfortable when we were surprised by other people being there. The night before checkout, he asked us to check out at 9am when the listing says 10.30am. Finally, we used the bbq grill which was very poor quality and melted immediately. When we tried to discuss what happened with the host and why we didn’t think it was fair to pay (as we had not don’t anything wrong), he shouted, talked over us and threatened to call the police. The grill had clearly never been used as it was located on the roof and there are no power sockets on the roof to plug it in. Overall, a number of things made the stay stressful despite being a beautiful home. Some other minor things could add to the comfort of the stay e.g. there were no kitchen knives to prepare a meal, there are no lights or power sockets on the roof (where the electric grill was located), no written instructions available for information missed during check in, extra towels and a broom available would have been beneficial for a 6 person stay over 4 nights.
