The Desert Getaway is a peaceful retreat in the heart of Tucson. The 1-bedroom, 1-bath studio-style home shares the private, walled courtyard with one other structure: a second 1-bedroom, 1-bath home.
The home is crafted in the classic desert style and boasts a lovely queen-sized bed with a well-appointed kitchenette. Please note that this is a studio-style space. There is no door between the bedroom and the living room, and the bathroom door is a barn door. Due to the lack of privacy between the bathroom and the other two spaces, this unit may not be ideal for groups.
Additional amenities include air conditioning and heating, high-speed wireless internet (100mbps download), wireless-capable flat-screen TV (use your Netflix account), coffee maker, microwave, and gas BBQ.
The space is well-equipped. Upon your arrival, you will find coffee, basic cooking supplies and seasonings, soap, dishes, pots and pans, towels, a hair dryer, and an iron. We have tried to think of everything, but if you find you are missing something, please ask, and we will do our best to provide it!
The property is a surprising oasis right in the middle of Tucson. It`s located in the Hendrick Acres neighborhood, a convenient midtown area close to everything -- just off the Mountain Avenue bike path, 2 miles north of the University of Arizona, and 3.5 miles northeast of downtown Tucson.
The property is within 2 miles of great restaurants, bars, grocery stores, cinemas, shopping, and parks. You will love the serenity, the classic charm, and the convenience.
During your stay, you will access the studio through a private gated entrance in the courtyard. A covered carport is available to protect your vehicle from the Tucson sun.
Kitchen: Refrigerator, air-fryer convection oven, induction stovetop, microwave, sink
Bedroom: Queen-size bed and closet
Living Area: Futon that sleeps 2, TV
Bathroom: Shower. Please be aware that our hot water heater is fairly small and only lasts about 10 minutes at a time.
Patio: Grill, covered parking, fire pit, and laundry behind the front unit (backyard amenities shared with guests in the front unit)

Uber to downtown/U of A. Can ride bike to U of A. Drive to parks.
PETS: This is a pet-friendly home, and guests are welcome to bring their furry friends! There is a limit of two pets, and the associated fees are $58 for one pet and $90 for two pets. (Fees are charged per stay, not per night. For two pets, $58 is included in the initial reservation payment, and an additional fee request is sent after booking.) We ask that pets not be allowed on the furniture and that guests pick up and discard any droppings.
PACKAGES & MAIL: If you need to receive packages or mail during your stay, please DO NOT plan to have anything delivered to the property. Instead, please plan to have packages or mail delivered to an Amazon locker, FedEx location, etc.
FUTON: Please let us know if you plan to use the futon so we can have bedding ready for your stay.

This is a Casita appropriate for 2 adults or 2 adults and one child. The biggest advantage of this place is privacy. There is a main house that is also rented, but the casita is a good distance from the main house and there is a very large yard secured by a locked gate and a tall wall. The kitchen has everything needed for basic cooking, and there is plenty of storage. I would recommend this property.

AC was great, had enough cooking supplies for simple meals, near a few food places, felt secure and safe behind the security gate at the entrance.

The casita was newly remodeled, very clean and neat, and well-equipped with electrical appliances of every kind. The bed was soft and comfortable, with fresh sheets and a plethora of pillows. Light switch locations were a bit awkward. Most concerning is that the front door threshold is an extreme tripping hazard and should be remedied. The communication was so intense, it felt like the owners are control freaks.
