Incheon (Guwol-dong) Guwol Hotel

They have amazing breakfast too

We stayed at the Guwol Hotel in Incheon, South Korea. Our room was 701. It included a queen sized bed, small refrigerator, HUGE TV, and computer. The bathroom had all the necessities including a toilet with a heated seat! There is a hair dryer and hair straightener also that my wife used. You don't wear shoes in the room, there is an Asian entrance at the door where you slip off your shoes, slippers are available to wear inside. This is common in any residence you may go to so take that into consideration when packing shoes for your trip. There is a slot in that entrance for you to put your room key into that turns on the room lights, they won't turn on unless it is in there. After that you can use the remote for controlling the TV, lights and AC (make sure you see the blue light on the AC and the damper open). Their default setting on the AC is 24⁰C (~75⁰F). The bed was very comfortable and had two pillows to choose from. We slept great. The outlets use rounded prongs and I believe the output is 220 (221 whatever it takes) (some of you will get that). So you will want to bring an outlet adapter and possibly a voltage adapter as well. I have a 3 in one charging stand that my watch would charge on but my phone would not. My phone would charge if I plugged the cord into it directly. There was a massage chair in our room that we took advantage of. Don't overdo it, you may hurt yourself, haha. The shower was really nice except that the door didn't stop the water from going under it. That is the main reason for wearing the slippers. The water pressure was great and the hot water is plentiful. There is an overhead stream and a wand. The square knob changes which stream you are using. There is a window that opens by using a switch on the window frame. There are also two lifelines that are in the room in case you need to save yourself by going out that way. I am serious. There really is. Breakfast was included each day. It is not American style but they did have scrambled eggs, toast and cereal. In Korea, breakfast is just another time to eat what they normally eat. There is also a small convenience store in the hotel that is handy. There is a beautiful park right across the street that my wife and I walked in each morning. There were times when little Korean ladies would stop and talk with us. The use of the Papago app helped but proved cumbersome at times. Download it if you dont speak Korean. You will also want to download the Naver maps app. Google doesn't work well over here and Naver is 1000% better. Using the public transportation system is very easy with Naver as it tells you where to walk to catch the bus or subway and then tracks your progress as you ride it telling you when to get off. The nearest bus stop is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Everyone observes the crosswalk signals and there is no need to press the buttons for the crosswalk, just let it do its thing automatically. Speaking of public transportation, get a TMoney card as soon as you can. You can get them at the airport and any convenience store. We started out with 10000 Wan and refilled it when we got down to 3000 Wan. You can refill it at any convenience store with cash only. Find a place to exchange money somewhere other than the airport. We started with 150000 Wan.

Staff were helpful. Room was large and comfortable. It was a great stay!
