- NOTE: There is a full-house emergency generator that will turn on if the power goes off. Every Tuesday afternoon, it can be heard briefly doing a weekly reset

My family booked this house because we booked a tubing trip down the James River with James River Runners. I grew up close to this area and this has been a tradition in my family since I was very small. We did not realize we were going to be staying in a meditation retreat. It was wonderful. Both my wife and I practice Transcendental Meditation and felt right at home. It was one of the most enjoyable and peaceful weekends we have ever had. We will always remember this weekend and look forward to making this a part of our tradition.

Beautiful, bright , clean and peaceful property. We came to attend a wedding in nearby Scottsville. We were very comfortable and felt well taken care of. The home was immaculate. One of the best rentals we have ever stayed in.
The owner is very helpful and communicative. We especially enjoyed the front porch in the morning. Great outdoor spaces!! Also loved the soaker tub and shower in the master bedroom.
We appreciated finding a place that fit our family of adults and that was pet free to avoid worrying about allergic reactions.
We highly recommend staying here and would rent again if we return to the area.

We came to Buckingham for a Thanksgiving family gathering and we needed a few more rooms. Karen's house was calm, comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked. Karen sent us a lot of information ahead of time about the house and it's surroundings. Overall, a very nice place for our family to rest and relax!!
