Love the Chic & Cozy Cabin on the lake. We have stayed here before. Will return anytime our plans bring us to Eastern South Dakota.

The lake house was great! My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend. It was our final getaway before our son is born (a babymoon, as they call it these days). The house had everything we needed to be comfortable; all the cooking supplies we could ask for (except for a pizza cutter), plenty of toiletries, and the bedrooms were well furnished with linens for a good night's sleep. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the bug situation. I was going to go enjoy the hot tub around 8:30 at night, and wanted to go outside to make sure it was up to temperature. I opened the front door, and it felt like I got blasted in the face by a huge gust of wind. It definitely was not wind, and when I closed the door after it being open for all of two seconds and turned back around, the white walls seemingly acquired a lot of spots. Bugs galore. It was not even worth the time to try and kill them with the provided fly swatters, we were overrun. We turned off all the lights and settled for watching a movie. The bug trap that was plugged into the kitchen wall was full as well, so I'm not sure how much it helped. If you're planning on having the lights on after dark, be sure to close the blinds/curtains!

The Glass Castle had impressive sunset views of Green Bay! It was very clean and well appointed. My 3 sisters and our husbands enjoyed the privacy of the 4 bedrooms. The great room and patio were wonderful spots to relax.

pros:
Complimentary water bottles, paved road location, quiet, good lake view, nice sunrise, sauna, hot tub, wifi internet, Netflix and other Roku smart TV channels, Keurig coffee maker, lots of linens, queen mattress comfortable.
cons/issues:
-Air conditioner is not "central air", but an overhead room unit. The unit was vibrating/noisy but worked the first night. The second night it quit cooling, so we had to open windows. With Canadian wild fire smoke, we wanted to avoid open windows due to allergies. We contacted manager -"parts on order/will send someone out" but it still wasn't working our last 2 nights. Luckily, nights were cool, but had to open windows.
- Septic system drain slowed down, so plunging toilet didn't help much. Kitchen sink was slow to drain, gurgling during showers. We contacted manager who says system must be emptied once a week, on Wednesday, out check out day. The truck showed up right as we departed - too late for us.
-clothes washer said "do not use". Photo showed it, "Amenities" didn't list it, but lists dryer and laundry detergent for some reason.
-hot tub worked fine, but instruction said put chlorine in after use, but it wasn't obvious where this was kept. Had to ask to find location of tablets.
-could use a dishwasher, which counts when guests must do the dishes.
-sleeps 5 guests - barely, if you bring kids - queen (2), full (1?), couch (1) and roll away bed(1).
-bugs galore- attracted to lights after dark, got inside when we brought our luggage in.
-laminate flooring in bathroom worn/cracked. Shower door might help keep water off floor.
-stairs from parking can be tricky to descend - unequal lengths?
