Fishing & the Outdoors

This isn’t “near water.” You are on Wolf Creek.

Step outside and you’re fishing. Wolf Creek is stocked with rainbow trout from fall through spring and offers strong smallmouth bass fishing in the summer. Two miles down the road, the New River delivers some of the best smallmouth and muskie fishing in the region, plus kayaking and tubing when you want a slower day on the water.

For a day trip, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is about an hour away — world-class fishing, hiking, and rock climbing in one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Mid-Atlantic.

Adventure Within an Hour
• Hiking: Appalachian Trail access 8 miles away; Cascade Falls, Mill Creek Falls, and Angel’s Rest all within easy reach
• Off-roading & ATV: Jefferson National Forest and the Spearhead Trails system for those who want dirt under their tires
• Golf: Castle Rock Golf & Recreation in Pembroke and other mountain courses within an hour
• Virginia Tech: Blacksburg and Lane Stadium are less than 40 minutes away — this property books fast on football weekends
• Local gems: Mountain Lake Lodge, where Dirty Dancing was filmed, JBR Vineyards, and The Palisades in Eggleston for award-winning dining

Evenings at the Lodge

Grill dinner, let the kids run the property, and end the night around the fire pit under a full sky of stars.

No neighbors. No noise. Just the creek.

Pets
We welcome dogs — $50 per pet at check-in. Vacations are better with your whole crew.

Guest Access
Guests have full access to the home, all 12 acres, and the creek.

Beautiful location!

I grew up in Narrows and my grandparents lived a little further down Wolf Creek. This lodge was the perfect place for a "mini" family reunion to celebrate my mom's birthday and reminded all of us how much we loved Wolf Creek. It is on a beautiful stretch of the creek that is shallow enough for young kids to wade and deep enough to swim if you wish. The yard is huge and great for soccer, badminton and just running around. Bring wood (or buy it locally) because you will want to spend time around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and enjoying the night. We hosted local family for evening meals and the kitchen and eating area was plenty big enough. I agree with other reviews that a big table would be nice for meals and a few more Pyrex casserole dishes would make cooking easier. We absolutely loved our stay and will most definitely book another vacation here!

Our group of 9 adult family members very much enjoyed their stay at the cabin. Everything was in working order and the amenities covered all the bases. Some sort of dining or game table would have been a nice addition as we were inside much of the time due to rainy weather.
