The detail and design were absolutely stunning. It's an unassuming house in the middle of nowhere, but when you open the main door you're transported somewhere cosy, and warm and relaxing. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous. The bathroom was stunning, spotless and loved the roll top bath. The bed/seating area was so, so comfortable after a long drive and it's the best night's sleep I've ever had on the first night somewhere. Breakfast was beautiful, with homemade croissants - I had to leave early but the crossaint was very kindly put in a takeaway bag for me, fresh out of the oven. Can't fault the stay, will absolutely be back. Oh and the guide book/history of the house as well!! Lovely personal touches from the owners too.

We knew it from a trip some years ago when it was a hotel. It’s the same beautiful location and furnishings.
We didn’t realize from the description that this isn’t a hotel anymore, and unfortunately only realized this after reserving, when I got the message that there’s no restaurant, etc. They only offer non-refundable bookings so you’re out of luck by the time you make the reservation and get this message. We arrived and there’s no reception. We wandered around until we found the name of the room we were supposed to stay in because there’s no one to ask questions about where to go. It’s very far from any restaurant so we had to get snacks from a food truck up the road. Their check-in time is 5pm which is much later than other places.
Some other reviewers mentioned that the hosts are nice, but I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was there. There was a tray with croissants, a boiled egg and juice at breakfast (I didn’t see any cheese as mentioned in the description.)
If you’re expecting an air b&b experience, this is a lovely place for that. It’s just not what I was looking for and I wish I’d realized it up front before booking.
