Rucăr Glamping Village

Great view, cosy feeling, really easy communication with the owners.

We loved the view of Rucar village from above, the surrounding area, which is very quiet and beautiful. The host was helpful, everything is decorated very nicely. The tents are spacious and comfortable, only that you have to light the fire, as it gets quite cold during the night.

There is mold on the tents, they should have some maintainance done. The road to the glamping village is quite tricky for a low car. If you want to go by walk, the city center is around 40 min away and you would have to descend a hill.

Location, location, location - simply amazing. Sunrise, sunset, stargazing - doesn't matter, it can't get better than this. The tent was spacious, clean and had everything. The outdoor showers are spacious, with plenty of hot water. Andrei (the owner), very helpful and friendly. You can even spot the ocasional "pet" fox.

Not bad things, but which can improve: The bed is decent, but improvised. Just one (exterior) toilet for 4 tents (roughly 10 people). Could use some large sun umbrellas and sitting furniture (exterior sofas/chairs), not just for eating purposes (as is atm).

Me and my wife decided to spend 2 nights here. When we arrived, a lady welcomed us and showed us around. When we got to the tent, which was clean and quite spacious, she instructed us on how to light the fire from the fireplace. There was already a batch of firewood inside, and she recommended starting the fire at around 12 am, using the lighter provided on the table. She also left us 6-7 pieces of firewood in a basket. At 12 am, we decided to go inside the tent as it was already quite cold and humid outside. We did what she said and lighted the firewood that was already in the fireplace. Once we did that, we noticed burning ashes going out the chimney. They slightly burnt the tent from the exterior in around 6 places. Once the fire settled, this did not happen anymore, but it was already too late. We were both afraid to leave the fire unattended. If we did not have any woods on the fire, we were freezing. So I decided to add only one firewood at a time, and I stayed next to the fireplace to ensure that things would be OK. We went to sleep at 4 am, we were left without any firewood, so it was really cold - we slept with our jackets and an additional blanket on. In the morning, we contacted the owner and informed him of what happened. Due to the incident, we did not feel comfortable or safe to spend the second night there. He initially said that he will give us a refund for the second night,, but afterwards he called and sort of blamed us for using a different kind of wood, or too much wood that led to the incident - which we did not. We lit the fire with the amount of wood that was already there, and we did not bring any firewood apart from the ones that were left in the basket. Even if those were not even enough for the night. Outside, there were cameras that for sure can attest to that. Nevertheless, we left with a bitter taste due to this incident, and also due to the approach the owner had with us.
