GALIHOST - A Casa do Olivo

Just a short distance off the Camino route in a quiet neighborhood, Carlos and his wife received us with enthusiasm and pride to show us the house and yard, all impeccably maintained. Furniture and decoration were more luxurious than expected. The 3-bedroom (nice double mattresses) with 1 ½ bathrooms was great for three adults. We really enjoyed the multi-spray shower. The modern, full kitchen included coffee and milk, fruit, and a selection of yogurt, cereal, ham, cheese, and bread – just right for a quick breakfast before resuming Camino. We savored the nice view across farmland where Peregrinos can be seen on Camino in the morning hours. La Casa is an easy walk to the Monasterio de Santa María de Armenteira and the adjacent Bar O Comercio for a good meal and a drink (and dreadfully slow service). Using the lockbox for the house keys made for easy checkout, and the luggage transfer delivery and pickup by Top Santiago was seamless. We were one-night Peregrinos, but with the downstairs second kitchen and grill room, this house is equipped for a multi-day vacation. We would return just to enjoy this location for a few more days.

Minor observations: Easy to lock yourself out – pay attention to the keys when visiting the Laundry Room! Masonry house gets hot from the setting sun and took a while to cool off in the evening. Very small washing machine and separate dryer that takes forever.

Queremos daros las gracias por el trato tan maravilloso que recibimos. Desde el primer momento nos encontramos un alojamiento impecable, con una limpieza increíble y cuidado hasta el más mínimo detalle. Somos peregrinos y llegamos agotados después de la etapa, y literalmente nos salvasteis la vida con todos los detalles que nos dejasteis: fruta, café y todo preparado para que pudiéramos descansar y recuperar fuerzas. Las habitaciones eran súper cómodas y no faltaba absolutamente nada. Además, viajamos con nuestra bebé y es muy difícil encontrar alojamientos pensados para familias con niños pequeños en el Camino de Santiago, pero aquí estaba todo preparado con muchísimo cariño y atención al detalle. Se nota cuando alguien piensa realmente en las necesidades de las familias. También queremos agradecer especialmente que nos permitierais quedarnos un poco más porque estaba lloviendo; fue un gesto que valoramos muchísimo. Gracias de corazón por vuestra amabilidad y por hacernos sentir tan cuidados. Sin duda, uno de esos lugares que hacen que el Camino sea aún más especial. Totalmente recomendable.
