Myrtle Villa

Comfortable, quiet well equipped . Location good for walking . close to the station . Liked the maps and nice to have a washing machine The treats were a nice touch lovely garden Easy walking to shops Excellent information folder

Basic tea and coffee provisions would be helpful but not a deal breaker

Its located in a beautiful part of the world. Lots of walking and easy access to shops, pubs and cafes. The house itself is spacious and well outfitted to suit short or longer stays.

The access by road and parking is tough. The lane is essentially single track to the house and their is not alot of space to turn into the parking bay but with a bit of patience its ultimately fine. Long cars/vans etc might take more patience and skill.

Our stay at Myrtle cottage was pleasant enough. The garden was pretty and the house was clean. There was a musty smell in the kitchen which was a little off putting and the off street parking is very tight (even with just one car) Problems arose when I left my phone in the cottage on the day of departure, despite it being found straight away and being told it has been posted by guaranteed delivery (for which I was happy to pay the postage and an additional goodwill payment) the phone never arrived when promised The chain of communication seems poor between Sykes the holiday company, the owner and the cleaner. After many conservations in which I had been told the phone had been posted only to find it hadn't I would drive back to the town we'd holidayed at (a 5 hour drive ) to pick it up myself at a place/time convenient for whoever had my phone - yes I was that desperate. I was told this wasn't possible as the phone had been posted that morning, I later found out this was not the case. I believe now my phone has finally posted and 8 days on I should get it back tomorrow. I have read this review to one of the many Sykes advisors and Bill's response was 'It's not being the best of service!?! (and there's only so much hold music someone can listen to without going slightly mad)
