Luxury One Bedroom Serviced Apartment in the Heart of Bedford

Apartment was clean

Had a disturbed nights sleep due to the constant noise / roar of the air circulation system. No welcome pack like experienced in other AirBnB’s. A What3Words address would be helpful as Satnav took us to front of building & not the street leading to parking area so frustratingly ended up drive around the block a couple of times.

The location was good for our needs.

It was advertised as “completely wheelchair accessible”. It was absolutely nothing of the sort. There was a step to get into the external door. The apartment was on the first floor which means that, in the case of a fire when you are advised not to use lifts, your life is in danger. The shower was in a high sided bath which made it completely inaccessible. When we received the booking confirmation, there was no mention of it being accessible. We contacted the letting company several times to try to clarify the position but the representative was completely unhelpful just replying that the details are all in the instructions but these were still not available less than five hours before our stay was due to start. We complained again during our stay but the reply was completely unhelpful. Also, we checked the booking site again for a future date and it definitely still shows as “completely wheelchair accessible”. There was an ironing board but no sign of any iron, which was a problem when we went out for a meal, and it was the third day of our stay before we found the instructions on how to use the various kitchen equipment (in a cabinet under the TV). There was a dishwasher but this was rather pointless as there were only two or three of each item so you couldn’t leave it for two or three days and there’s no point running a dishwasher for two plates and two bowls.

When I arrived at the property, they wanted me to leave a security deposit online but they never sent this before and so I cancelled and had to stay somewhere else. The staff was very abrupt.

Location is good, there is a car park and you can park your car for free.

The bed sheets were not clean and there were a few stains on them. Pilows were in bad conditions. The toilet fush wasn't working and it took a 4 days for them to fix that (although I called and messaged them several times). There is a second gate on the floor where the entry code did not work and no one picked up the phone when I called them. I had to stay out for a long time till a neighbour came and let me in. The sofa and chairs in the living room were not clean at all. The majority of facilities are very old and in bad conditions and the price is too expensive for what they offer. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

Apartment was clean and was perfect for our trip.

Did not get clear directions for entering property and was locked out for 30 mins trying to get in as nobody gave me access code for the building. Nothing in apartment such as tea or coffee or any amenities like shampoo conditioner or body wash.
