Air conditioner didn't work and it was scorching hot. Fans were brought in but no effort to fix the air conditioning.

Great value, fantastic customer service, would stay again

We had a bit of a hard start with an alarm going off in the middle of the night and no air con but Smart, who work for neighbourgood could not have done more for us to make sure our stay was positive after. We really appreciated his efforts in turning things around as we have a 4 month old so air con was ideal but he problem solved. Thankyou again to Smart! We definitely will stay again purely for his hospitality

The rooms need updating a bit now, there were broken wooden slats when you pulled the wall divider out. The 3rd bedroom smelt a bit foisty. Generally it was nice but I think 5 years ago it would have looked really nice so just needs some improvements.

Lovely size apartment.

The view was stunning, the size of the apartment was wonderful and we loved that all rooms were en suite. The kitchen had all that was needed for self catering. Being above the shops was also convenient for groceries.

The "free" parking was inaccurate as we were only given 1 parking voucher, which was only valid for 1 exit. Given the location of the apartment, we were driving around everyday and needed 1 or 2 parking vouchers a day. We did ask for more vouchers, and were given an extra 2, which was shamefully inadequate for a 5 night stay. There was also a lot of noise in the building - maintenance drilling before 8am and what sounded like gym weighs being dropped from 6am. The open plan nature of the main bedroom into the living room would not be ideal for friends using the accommodation. And the kitchen cabinets and lounge furniture needed some TLC and maintenance.

Good overall

We could not get into our building every time we went out. Fobs were not working! Could not reach host to let us as well as other residents in late at night. Very scary if you were in your own.

Very nice apartment with great security and modern facilities

Clean modern room. Very spacious. Very safe with secure lift access and off-street fully paid parking

No champagne glasses or bottle opener. Only two sets of cutlery and crockery available which makes snacking difficult

Unimpressed

The room floor was so greasy as we arrived in the room. There were loads of flies in the room and the room smelt disgusting , like fish. The bathroom smelt even worse. Smelt like a sewerage farm in there. I had to go to the shops to buy Doom and fragrance stay. I was very dissapointed.

The rooms could use some facilities updates. The Chairs in the lounge in my apartment and carpets are old.

Excellent location , lovely apartment and very safe

This place was amazing. We only stayed for a night as we had a layover in CT and didn’t want to stay in an airport hotel. It was safe, really lovely apartment , it is in a mall so very handy but not noisy. Also it was so reasonably priced. Brilliant find

A convenient location with friendly staff and good amenities

The hosts sent detailed info and included a video on the key collection process. The building the apartments are in is multi-use so there are different entrance points and to know the way to the key boxes from any entrance made it easy to find the key box and access it. The only observations is the limited cutlery, but this doesn't take away from the stay.

Great location but very run down

Location is amazing, shops and supermarket below is great convenience. WIFI great too. Staff were supportive too where they could help.

This property is run down and needs SERIOUS maintenance. Check in process was a pain too and better lock boxes easier to locate and see numbers 🤦🏻‍♂️. Cleanliness of room also questionable. Found lots of dirt and dust. Worst issue was the elevators. They are far too noisy and never slept past 6am. Something needs to be done. Moved apartments but still bad noise from elevators!

Needs maintenance

The accommodation is spacious

I was notified at the last minute that my room was still occupied by the previous guest but they did upgraded me to a 2 bedroom unit. The unit was nice and spacious but the upholstered furniture and carpets were full of stains. The bathroom lights were insufficient and on permanent dim. The beds were worn out and uncomfortable. This place needs a deep clean and revamp.

I liked that the property was on Somerset rd and adjacent to the Spar and Other eateries.

I did not like that the elevator was extremely loud and kept me up all night. I filed multiple reports on this issue and even requested a refund for my stay but was denied. This noise issue completely altered the mood during my stay and made it quite difficult to enjoy. I would not recommend or use Neighbourgood accommodations again.

Not safe

Good location

I left my luggage in the apartment , traveled to Joburg for two days The staff of this hotel came together to steal my watch from my luggage. Came to Cape Town to discover they have stolen my watch It took me and my friends more than 2hrs of fighting, begging and talking to recover my watch back, after which they collected $100 from me Just a quick advice , don’t lodge there It’s not safe It’s not safe Let me write it in capitals for you ITS NOT SAFE

Very nice stay!

Amazing location. The apartment was very clean and spacious.

In one of the room there were not curtains in one window and sun was coming in early morning. There was a miscommunication and towels were not changed.

Fabulous location, great apartment for a short stay

The property was well laid out and great for a family group. It had most of the things you need for a short stay although could have done with a corkscrew. Fabulous views from the bedroom windows

Location is fantastic! Size of the unit is spacious. Staff at CQ is friendly.

Unit needs a lot of maintenance, TP-holder was loose and frustrating, drains need to be unclogged and flushed. Bad smells in one of the rooms 1st night. Staff came to sort most things out quickly. Blinds were broken and dusty.

Exceptional location, we had an event at Cape-Town stadium and it is within walking distance. Shops and restaurants beneath and across the street. Very spacious and a lovely place, modern and updated.

Disappointed

The location

I had requested check in between 5 & 6pm on booking.com, this was confirmed by property. On the day of check in no check in info for was provided, I had to call and request this. Was then told that my check in had to be before 5pm as he was going home, this had disrupted our existing plans, and had to rush back from the winelands. Their payment page provided by the venue was also not a secure site and because of this my device would not allow me to make payment online. Hallway carpets filthy and in bad shape, rooms are desperate for a refurb (bathroom basins, ceilings, rug & couch have all seen better days. Stayed here a few years ago, sad to see how fast the rooms have deteriorated.

When purchasing the booking I selected a particular room that came with outside seating attached to the room. That was not the case when being shown the room by reception there was only a very small outside space without any seating.

Calm, peaceful apartment in lovely area

Lovely large, bright, comfortable apartment with view onto pretty streets on the edge of Bo Kaap quarter. Excellent shower :) Local area was cool and arty, cafes, yoga studios etc - felt safe to walk around with smiling security guards everywhere! And most importantly, amazing welcome and continuing assistance from the lovely Anesu. He really went above-and-beyond to help us both on arrival - and then on departure too, especially when we needed extra help as my husband was injured :) What a star, thank you!

Not a “didn’t like” but info for future guests: (a) apartments (and check in) are in 18 Hudson Street (not 27 Somerset Road, as per booking.com info - this is the office where the apartment management is based, although only in the next block anyway); and (b) share your WhatsApp number early for check in instructions.

Disappointing stay, can’t wait to leave

Location, cleaning crew were good, room size

As some previous reviews have pointed out, so these are known issues that aren’t being rectified… aircon not working. Fan only. Room is stuffy and hard to sleep in. Portable aircon unit in but the output tube just exits into the room? So it doesn’t cool anything. Shower drain - smell coming up. Lighting - very dark. Shower - open plan and right next to the bed so it gets damp. Drainage flows everywhere and there’s nothing to stop it pouring all over the floor of the bedroom. Noisy place, doors slamming and walls are thin with neighbours. Pool rooftop - pictures show loungers, there aren’t any. Quite shabby. Pool looked murky and filthy one day. Safe stopped working one morning and this was fixed just over 24 hours later. I did mention the smell of the drain at the time and was told it would be looked at, it wasn’t. I also asked to switch rooms as it was that bad, no reply to my question there

AIRCON does not work at ALL. One of the maintenance men came out and still settled on just putting the fan on. Did not sleep at all because we COOKED
