Down End Cottage, Corfe Castle

Great location. Clean comfortable and generally lovely throughout

Parking when arriving as more than one family unit. There was off road parking a little way away and a car park a bit further too. This is to be expected though in such a location.

The host was very helpful and kind. The property had plenty of cooking utensils - not just the minimum as most places do. It was right in the heart of a beautiful town Corfe with a view of the castle. The bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was very good too. Big screen TV.

The house was a bit dark inside even with the lights on. It was on a very busy road with constant traffic during the daytime but it was August! The garden was overgrown at the top. It works have been lovely to have a little table and chairs to sit out in the garden in the evening.

Beautiful property with cosy furnishings. Well-equipped kitchen. Great location.

Dining table is on a slant. Lockbox with keys is a bit stiff and difficult to open.

The village is beautiful and the cottage has a good location, very easy to find and to access. House has a great size and layout for a family of 5, decoration is cosy

Place was not properly cleaned, especially the kitchen felt messy and only cleaned superficially. Had very few plates and cutlery, had to look around for more. The basics were also missing like bin liners, dishwashing soap, hand soap, shower gel. For the price, one would expect all this to be available, especially for short stays. There were no instructions about how to operate the house - we had to find ourselves the keys, internet code, where to park, etc. Host was quick at replying to questions online, but time would have been saved with a proper instruction manual. Also, unfortunately there is a damp smell all over the cottage.
