Queensland Hotel

Everything was perfect.

The hotel is in a great location for Nuwara Eliya. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was good and one of the best I've had for the price in Sri Lanka. They gave me an upgrade when I arrived as they weren't fully booked which was a lovely gesture. The breakfast was great, its definitely worth trying the Sri Lankan breakfast. The hotel offered to arrange a tuk tuk for me to get to Ambewela when this wasn't available they took me themselves, they had arranged this before I knew there was an issue. They really did go above my expectations.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The service was amazing with tea and biscuits on arrival, and the hosts provided everything that we needed. It was very clean and the rooms were really nice. The breakfast was the best we’ve had so far - a lovely traditional Sri Lanka breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying here.

What I liked the most is the attitude of the staff. They were really helpful & doing their best with the resources available. When I had so many issues with the initial room given to us, the staff took swift action offering a different room to us. their prompt action made us stay here, unless would've taken a call to move out to a different location.

The room I reserved was ready but was not up to my expectation. The tiled floor didn't comfort me through the chilling climate. The wires were visible & dangerously exposed in the washroom. The curtain had a gap from the wall / window which allowed any Porchers can peep in through the window. Tea tray had 1 white sugar, 1 brown sugar, 2 nescafe & 2 tea bags only. No creamers provided. When inquired, staff were willing to give some local milk powder from their kitchen. The smell inside the room was not comfortable to me at all. When informed it was revealed that the room was painted recently & the smell could be off that. The washbasin stopper was malfunctioning in the second room.
