We appreciated the authenticity of the home stay, village nearby and family. We felt and as if we were staying in their home. Nearby are the village and town. It is suited to those who are not looking for a western tourist experience but to spend time in a local area. There are lovely walks to do in the area and it is 15mins on a bus or tuk tuk to Nuwara Elia. Also not far to worlds end. We had a beautiful day with a local tuk tuk driver who took us to local temples and sites. It’s possible to have dinner at the villa - just be aware that it is traditional to eat after 8 pm so plan for this.

We stayed here for two days with my girlfriend because we wanted to do the train journey from Nanu Oya to Ella. Unfortunately, there were no trains on the day we planned to leave from Nanu Oya, but the owner offered to take us to Ambewela, where trains to Ella were running the following day. He also took care of our motorcycle the whole day. Very cozy place, even though it is still under construction. Highly recommended.
