Pet-Friendly Black Mountain Vacation Home w/ Deck

This is probably my favorite vacation rental that did not have the advantage of being waterfront. Beautiful 3-bedroom house with screen porch for about the price of the cheapest motel in the area. incredible deal, especially staying with a cat who could enjoy the porch without danger of getting out and lost. (If I were moving to Black Mountain, and it were on the market, I'd consider buying it.) The owner and neighbor were very helpful when the batteries in the electronic door lock wore out. even a butterfly bush by the porch that attracted hummingbirds and butterflies. I'm tempted to rate it low so that other people will not find it when I come back to Black Mountain but that would simply be a lie! ;-). Oh, and got to see a bear who wandered by the perimeter of the property at sunset every night, so maybe not a place to lie out stargazing.

A few small things. Lovely shower, but it could use grab bars. One of the door latches on the porch door had come out (I replaced it) and there was a pet door out of the porch whose door was missing (gerry-rigged something for that too, though I had a moment of panic when I saw it with the cat already on the porch). I'm sure the vert responsive owner would have been quick to address these things, but it was a quick and easy fix.

Beautiful location, quiet and very comfortable rental. Excellent for three people so each gets their own room. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the Black Mountain area.

Please tell your guests that in order to access the house, they need to press the top circle on the black keypad on the front door for the numbers to light up. It took me some time to figure that out.

The beds are comfortable . The pots and pans was good too. Icemaker won't make ice but we got ice at store without any problems.
