NICE LIFE - Luxury apartment in the Old Town.

We received a message from our host, Noro, letting us know that we could check in earlier than planned, which worked out perfectly as we had arrived a few hours ahead of schedule. Noro met us and took us up to the apartment, which was on the top floor. There was a small lift that just about fitted our suitcases and the three of us, although it does not go all the way to the apartment level and there are still two flights of stairs to climb. The apartment itself was excellent. It was lovely and cool when we arrived and felt much larger than it appeared in the photos. It was very spacious, modern and well equipped, with plenty of kitchen facilities, including an ice dispenser in the fridge and two coffee machines. There was great lighting throughout, plenty of sockets for charging devices, a good music system and access to an outdoor rooftop terrace, although unfortunately we did not have time to sit out there. The location was also ideal, only around a five-minute walk from the main pedestrian streets in the centre of Bratislava. We were only staying one night as part of our European travels, but this was probably one of the best apartments we have stayed in for its modern feel and value for money. We would definitely try to stay here again when visiting this beautiful city.

There was very little we did not like. The only thing to be aware of is that the lift does not go right to the top floor, so there are still two flights of stairs to reach the apartment door. The lift itself is also quite small, especially when travelling with luggage. Unfortunately, we were only staying for one night, so we did not get the chance to fully enjoy the rooftop terrace or make the most of the apartment. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The apartment is wonderful and is located in a very nice area. Noro met us, showed all facilities and how to use the elevator (it's old and tricky :) ). A small welcome gift was waiting for us as well as things for our dogs, which is always nice. The area by the way is great for dog walking, a lot of cosy streets. At the same time it is a walking distance to the city center and amazing promenade along the river. The kitchen is well equipped including coffee and tea, there are cosmetics in the bathroom. Also we easily found parking spot on the street (it could be paid for via an app, Noro informed me about it in advance). Basically the flat has everything you may need.

I think everything was perfect.

The apartment definitely is better IRL than in photos. Very clean, full of amenities, everything is fresh, clean new equipment: dishwasher, washing machine, capsule coffee machine, microwave etc. Nice towels, bathrobe, slippers, complimentary snacks, nice acoustic system, a lot of natural light. There is a terrace with a beautiful view. Location is perfect, 10 min walk from city center, however the area is full of nice niche eating places, bars and coffee shops. Different supermarkets are nearby. Also very quiet. Bed was comfortable.

The only issue and huge con personally for me was bedding. Being a person sensitive to the non natural materials, I could not sleep on the bedding, I had to use cotton towels and bathrobe as sheet and bathrobe as a layer between me and the blanket. The bedding, including the pillows, sheets, duvet and blankets, seemed to be of rather low quality and made entirely from inexpensive synthetic materials. Everything was generating static electricity: when I turned off the lights at night and moved the blanket, I could literally see small sparks. In addition, the sheet was covered in pilling, which made it quite rough and uncomfortable to sleep on.
