The Barn

The Barn was a very special find for our two night stay in the Chichester area. The location was so peaceful and quiet. The room was just as described, tastefully decorated with everything we needed including a welcome cup of tea after our long journey. Chris our host was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

A couple of well meaning suggestions - comfortable chairs for reading and an additional step at the entrance for people who are disabled.

Location lovely and extremely well explained with communication via email and text. Home owner was extremely helpful and went over and beyond to help, even checking on me when arrived slightly later than intended to ensure wasn’t lost. From start to end seamless booking and communication throughout, with immediate replies. It was all exactly as described and in fact more comfortable and beautiful than photos did justice. Very clean and had a great nights sleep. Home owner even offered a full refund when I realised breakfast wasn’t included. But I’m glad I didn’t cancel, as the quality of my stay was far outweighed by the fact that I ate elsewhere for breakfast. I was given plenty of advice too of where best to eat, which was only a stone throw away. Highly recommend to others and advice you to book without hesitation. Thank you so much for a good short stay.

Zero complaints.

Very comfortable bed. Spacious bedroom with microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge & crockery. Well chosen decor. Sheets & towels good quality. Host was very helpful in suggesting places to eat.

The bathroom had no extractor fan. & The shower area looked very uninviting & grubby having mould ingrained grout. This was at odds with the rest of the property which was well kept & clean.

Its location.

The bedding was very uncomfortable - rough to the touch & as the weather was very hot, it felt quite scratchy on bare skin. Inadequate ventilation - one small window in the bathroom & sliding doors in the bedroom which we were reluctant to leave open as, being in the country, animals could have entered during the night. There was no real comfort anywhere - only hard backed chairs; tired & rusty garden furniture. A large fake potted fern in one corner of the bedroom was coated in dust. The walk-in shower needed a good scrub. We could hear every movement made by the couple in the room above.
